하고초(夏枯草)가 흰쥐의 관절강내 Collagenase 투여로 인한 관절연골의 Proteoglycan 변성에 미치는 영향

Objectives: This study was to investigate the effects of Prunellae Herba on Proteoglycan(PG) degradation by measuring body weight, Glycosaminoglycan(GAG), Interleukin-1β(IL-1β) in synovial fluid, and PG content of articular cartilage of femur in collagenase-induced arthritis in rats. Methods :Arthritis was induced by injection of collagenase(0.1 ml) into knee joint of rats. Arthritic rats were divided into control(n=8) and treated( n=8) group. Control group was taken normal saline for 15 days and treated group was taken extracts of Prunellae Herba for same duration. Normal group(n=8), non-arthritic group, was injected with normal saline and was taken normal saline for 15 days. Body weight was measured at 0, 10, 15 days after injection. GAG, IL-1β in synovial fluid were measured with ELISA kit at 15 days after injection. PG content of articular cartilage of femur, represented by safranine O staining, was measured at 15 days after injection. Histopathological study on the articular cartilage of knee joint was investigated at 15 days after injection. Results : Body weight of treated group was not significantly increased, PG of treated group was significantly increased, and GAG was significantly decreased compared with control group. But IL-1β was not significantly decreased. Conclusions : On the basis of these results, we concluded that Prunellae Herba has inhibiting effects on the Proteoglycan degradation in collagenase-induced rat osteoarthritis model

Objectives : This report is to investigate clinical effects of Chuna treatment on anterior translation of sternoclavicular joint. Methods : The female Patient, 50 years old, had anterior translation of sternoclavicular joint and the local pain. We treated the patient with Chuna treatment. In order to evaluate the improvement, Degrees of pain were measured with Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), and the change of anterior translation was assessed with anterior height of clavicle head. Results : After 3 weeks treatment, In VAS, Degrees of pain decreased 10 to 2. and Anterior height of clavicle head decreased 15mm to 5mm. Conclusions : Chuna treatment is effective on treating anterior translation of sternoclavicular joint and the local pain.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate clinical effects of Chuna treatment on the neck pain patient with hypolordotic cervical spine. Methods: From June 2006 to August 2006, 20 cases of neck pain patient with hypolordotic cervical spine were divided into 2 groups. Control group(n=10) was treated only acupuncture therapy, and sample group(n=10) was treated Chuna after acupuncture therapy same as control group. Degrees of pain were measured with Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), and the change of cervical curvature was assessed Depth of cervical curve, Method of Jochumsen, and Angle of cervical curve. Results: 1. After 3th and 5th treatment, there was statistical significance between control and sample group in VAS. 2. After 5th treatment, there was not statistical significance between control and sample group in Depth of cervical curve, Method of Jochumsen, and Angle of cervical curve. Conclusions: On treating the neck pain patient with hypolordotic cervical spine, Chuna treatment is more effective than only acupuncture therapy in reducing neck pain, but Chuna treatment for short-term is not more effective than only acupuncture therapy in restoring cervical curvature.

Objectives The aim of this study is to evaluate effects of hard board applied to acute low back pain patient by using Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Pain Rating Score(PRS). Methods From March. 2005 to October. 2005, 20 cases of acute low back pain were divided into 2 groups in sequence. Control group took a rest on the bed(marble-sponge mattress) and sample group took a rest on the hard board. Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Pain Rating Score(PRS) were used to assess the change of pain. VAS and PRS were checked 3 times before the treatment, after 3day treatment and 6day treatment. Results 1. After 3day and 6day treatment, there was statistical significance between control and sample group by VAS. 2. After 3day and 6day treatment, there was statistical significance between control and sample group by PRS. Conclusions On treating acute low back pain, it is more effective taking a rest on the hard board than taking a rest on the bed. Further study is needed about effects of hard board applied to acute low back pain patient.

Objectives: This study was designed to find the relationship between Moire topography and leg length inequality. Methods : The authors practiced Moire topography by using IBS-2000 and measured leg length inequality for Se-Myung university 108 students in Chechun, Korea in 2006. Then we measured difference of shoulder joint height, interval between vertical base line of pelvis and vertical base line of neck, and difference of contour lines through the Moire topography. After we statistically analyzed the relationship between Moire topography`s data and leg length inequality. Results : 1. The students that leg length inequality is 0-0.5(0.LLI<0.5)cm have 0.89±0.60cm of the difference of shoulder joint height, 0.56±0.38cm of the interval between vertical base line of pelvis and vertical base line of neck, and 1.28±0.70cm of the difference of contour lines. 2. According to this research, there were significant increase between the students that leg length inequality is 0-0.5(0.LLI<0.5)cm and the students that leg length inequality is 0.5-1.0(0.5.LLI<1.0)cm in difference of contour lines and interval between vertical base line of pelvis and vertical base line of neck. 3. We can guess 0.5-2.5(0.LLI<2.5)cm of leg length inequality that the person who has more than 1.19cm of the difference of shoulder joint height, more than 1.12cm of the interval between vertical base line of pelvis and vertical base line of neck, and more than one of the difference of contour lines. Conclusions : According to this results Moire topography is useful to guess the leg length inequality

Objectives:This study was performed to show difference between two Korean music on autonomic nerve system by measuring Heart Rate Variability(HRV) for preliminary study of music therapy in oriental medicine.There are frequency domain analyses of HRV such as Total Power(TP), Low Frequency(LF), High Frequency(HF), and LF/HF Ratio.These are contributed to understanding of autonomic nerve system.Methods:The participants were 12 adult volunteer and 9 of them completed the test.Experiment divided for three sessions and HRV was measured after each sessions.After 5 minute of resting first session HRV was measured for baseline.After first session each participants were exposed on three conditions-HM(Huimori tempo of Gayagum), JM(Jinyang tempo of Germungo), NM(no music)-for 5 minute and second session HRV was measured.After second session, each participants were exposed on same conditions again for 5 minute and third session HRV was measured.TP, LF, HF, and LF/HF Ratio were measured and correlation of these parameters among each conditions were analyzed.Results:The result shows that HF component of HRV increased after sessions in JM condition compare to HM and NM condition(p < 0.01).There was no significant difference on TP, LF, and LF/HF Ratio.Conclusions:This result suggests that JM is more effective than HM increasing HF component of HRV.It presumes that JM is more effective in activating on parasympathetic nerve.
