현재 빠른 발전을 이뤄나가는 시장 중 하나인 게임 시장에서 여성 게이머의 비율이 갈수록 높아지고 있음에도 불구하고 그들은 게임 참여에서 여전히 다양한 소외를 경험한다. 많은 게임의 문법은 여성을 대상화함으로써 남성적 영역을 재현하는 방식으로 쓰인다. 여성 게이머는 지나친 여성 대상화에 대한 불쾌감과 여성을 타겟으로 삼는 콘텐츠의 부족을 느끼는 상태이다. 따라서 여성 게이머의 관점에서 게임을 하는 목적과 선호 유형을 조사하고, VR을 도구로 선정하였다. 이는 20대 여성들에게 익숙한『오즈의 마법사』를 각색하여 액션 어드벤처 VR 게임『도로시』의 구현으로 이루어졌다. 게임 플레이는 젊은 여성 캐릭터인 도로시의 시선에서 플레이어의 선택과 액션이 중요 척도가 된다. 이를 통해 일상적으로 소외되는 여성 게이머를 적극적으로 체험의 영역 안에 끌어들일 수 있을 것으로 본다. 동시에 잠재된 여성 게이머의 가능성을 발굴해내는 콘텐츠를 통해 디지털 게임 시장의 새로운 발전을 기대하는 바이다. Despite the ever-increasing proportion of female gamers in the game market, one of the fast-growing markets, they still experience alienation in various game engagements. The grammars of many games, are used to reproduce the masculine realm by objectifying women. Female gamers feel the unpleasantness of over-objectifying women and the lack of content that targets women. In this regard, we investigated the purpose and preferences of playing games from the perspective of female gamers, and selected VR as a method. This dramatization of 『The Wizard of Oz』, which is familiar to young women, was implemented of VR action adventure game contents, 『Dorothy』. Gameplay is an important measure of player choice and action in the eyes of Dorothy, a young female character. This will actively attract female gamers who are routinely marginalized in the game industry into the realm of experience. We are looking for new developments in the digital game market by discovering the potential of female gamers.
