N/A Rubber products are aged like human complexion by the attack of oxygen, ultra violet, ozone, etc.. Aging is very important and also very complicated phenomenon to understand. This may explain the rarity of papers on this subject. In this study, we tried to understand the aging behavior of EPDM compared to that, of natural rubber. We also compared the sulfur vulcanized system to the peroxide vulcanized one. In our experiment, the peroxide vulcanizates were more advantageous in aging than the sulfur vulcanizates. The authors belived that this study about the high performance EPDM would be applicable to rubber industry.

Novel analytic modeling and design method is proposed for the analysis of geothermal-integrated energy systems which provide space heating and cooling. Rather than building a complex optimization framework, an analytic design procedure is developed to determine hourly and monthly distribution of renewable-sourced energy and its sizing in a systematic manner by considering renewable characteristics and energy storage. The new design method also allows to fully realize the advantage of geothermal energy through the seasonal supply of heating and cooling and to accommodate variable generation of other renewables. The benefi t of this short-cut design method has been fully illustrated with two case studies in which geothermal energy is used for the provision of combined heat and cooling in domestic and commercial applications. Case studies also demonstrate the impact of time-dependent generation of renewable energy on the sizing of energy suppliers and its seasonal or hourly allocation of working loads.
적층단면법에 의한 철근콘크리트 보 해석에서의 부착슬립효과

이 논문에서는 적층단면법에 기초하여 단조하중 또는 반복하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 보 및 기둥 부재의 비선형 해석모델이 제안되었다. 완전부착 가정을 토대로 하고 있는 적층단면법은 콘크리트와 철근 사이의 부착슬럽 거동을 고려하지 못한다는 고전적 비선형 해석법과는 달리, 균열 발생시 철근을 따라 발생되는 부착슬립 거동을 힘의 평형관계와 변위의 적합조건으로 정량화하고, 그 결과로부터 철근의 강성을 보정해줌으로써 반영하도록 하였다. 이는 적층단면법에서 추가 자유도(double node)를 도입하지 않고 부착슬립효과를 고려할 수 있다는데 그 의의를 둘 수 있을 것이다. 나아가 제안된 방법에 의한 해석결과와 실험결과와의 비교를 통해, 제안된 방법은 부착슬립 거동에 의한 강성저하(stiffness degradation)를 동반하는 철근콘크리트 보 및 기둥 부재의 균열거동을 효과적으로 고려할 수 있음을 검증하였다 An analytical procedure to analyze reinforced concrete(RC) beams and columns subject to monotonic and cyclic loadings is proposed on the basis of the layered section method. In contrast to the classical nonlinear approaches adopting the perfect bond assumption, the bond slip effect along the reinforcing bar is quantified with the force equilibrium and compatibility condition at the post cracking stage and its contribution is implemented into the reinforcing. The advantage of the proposed analytical procedure, therefore, will be on the consideration of the bond slip effect while using the classical layered section method without additional consideration such as taking the double nodes. Through correlation studies between experimental data and analytical results, it Is verified that the proposed analytical procedure can effectively simulate the cracking behavior of RC beams and columns accompanying the stiffness degradation caused by the bond slip.
FASTLite를 이용한 backdraft 사고의 해석

This paper has two objectives. One is to introduce a software package, "FASTLite" for fire safety engineering calculation, the other to show the modeling result of a backdraft incident on the 62 WATTS street. A classic backdraft usually persists only seconds before exhausting their fuel supply but in this case the flame had persists for at least 6 and a half minutes. It is truly necessary to find out where the fuel came from to feed this flame for so long. The backdraft is successfully modelled by using FASTLite. To help understanding of this backdraft, the calculation with the door open is also carried out and compared to the backdraft.
공기유입이 화재강도에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적인 연구

An experimental investigation has been made with the objcetive of studying the effects of air entrainment of fire strength. A rich jet flame is considered as an fire, and fire, and the air entrainment is controlled by introducing the tone excitation which is generated by means of a loudspeaker-driven cavity. The excitation frequency is chosen for the resonant frequency identified as a pipe resonance due to acoustic excitation. As the excitation intensity increases, the amplitude of oscillating velocity for inducing air entrainment is increased, the flame height decreased and the structure of diffusion flame gradually transformed to that of premixed flame.
직선배관에서 균일한 공기 흡입을 하는 오리피스 직경변화에 대한 연구

The objective of this paper is to investigate the variation of orifice diameter in a straight pipe which can give equal-sampling rate. This can be utilized for designing orifice in air-sampling smoke detector. The elements which should be considered for designing orifices was presented and the calculation procedure was also given in this paper. The effects of pipe length, the number of orifices, fan pressure was decribed.
