대학생들의 지역신문 이용과 평가를 통한 지역신문 개선방향의 탐색: 부산지역 대학생들에 대한 서면인터뷰를 중심으로

이 연구는 지역신문의 위기를 극복하기 위한 하나의 방법으로 평가되는 젊은 독자층의 지역신문 이탈방지 및 유입 극대화 전략을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해젊은 독자층인 대학생 31명을 대상으로 서면인터뷰를 수행하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 지역신문 이용 이유는 지역특화 콘텐츠 이용, 취업 도움, 관성 등으로, 지역신문 비이용 이유는 비용(접근성) 문제, 대체 미디어 이용, 특화 콘텐츠 부족, 흥미성 부족등으로 나타났다. 둘째, 지역신문 애착 이유는 지역문제 해결을 위한 필요, 지역사회 발전의 토대, 지역대표성 이미지 등이었다. 반면, 비애착 이유는 흥미성 부족, 대체 미디어, 정치적 편향성 등이었다. 셋째, 지역신문 공정성 저평가 이유는 외부세력 개입, 정치적 성향 개입 등이었고, 지역신문 심층성 저평가 이유는 문제제기 이후 심층/탐사보도 부족 등이었다. 지역신문 흥미성 저평가 이유는 킬러콘텐츠 부족 등이었다. 넷째, 강화해야 할 콘텐츠는 흥미성 강화 연성 콘텐츠, 다양한 소재의 콘텐츠, 시사보도 기능 콘텐츠였고, 지역성을 강화하기 위해서는 심층성/연속성 있는 콘텐츠 개발, 지역민과의 소통창구 구축, 시사보도 강화 등이 필요하다고 인식하였다. 본 연구는 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 지역신문의 성장을 위해 필요한 몇가지 제언을 수행하였다. The purpose of this study is to explore the strategies of preventing loss of and maximizing inflow of young local newspaper readers in order to overcome a crisis of local newspaper. For this, we performed written interview on 31 people aimed at 20’s. Findings are as follows. First of all, the purposes of usage of local newspaper were shown as usage of local-specialized contents, val-id information for finding a job, old habit, etc., meanwhile the reasons of non-usage were shown as cost(accessibility), using a substitution-media, shortage of specialized contents, lack of interest, and so on. Second, the reasons of attachment for local newspaper were shown as solving local problems, foundation of local community development, image of local representation, etc., whereas the reasons of non-attachment were shown as lack of interest, using a substitution-media, political bias, and so forth. Third, the reasons of low evaluation for fairness of local newspapers were showed as intervention of outside power and political position; for depth of news were lack of in-depth/investigative reporting after problem posing; for interest was showed as lack of killer contents. Fourth, contents that need to be improved were showed as soft contents based on interest, contents containing diverse topics, and contents of news and current affairs, and the way to reinforce locality was recognized as developing depth/continuity contents, constructing spaces of communication with local people, and reinforcing news and current affairs. Based on such findings, we carries out to give some proposals for developing local newspaper.
