This paper presents numerical study on the performance of a heat pump system for an electric bus. The compressor modeling was carried out a map-based model. The map-based model was developed by using map-data offered by a compressor manufacturer. Capacity, compressor power, and mass flow rate were predicted by using a 2nd order polynomial fit as a function of both condensing and evaporating temperature. The compressor correlations yielded satisfactory predictions upon comparisons with the map data within a relative deviation of ±8% at all conditions. In cycle simulation, the Cooling COP decreased from 3.149 to 2.644 when the indoor temperature varied from 40℃ to 25℃. the heating COP increased from 3.266 to 5.911 when the ambient temperature varied from 20℃ to 5℃.
