洪景來亂에 대한 기억의 재구성 - 「辛未錄」의 형성맥락에 대하여 -

Sinmilok is a narrative about Honggyungrae rebellion which rose in 19th Pyongan province. There are Two version of text. One is the woodblock printed in 1861 and the other is a manuscript which is housed in Changseogak palace Library. The manuscript has older vocabularys and spellings, and less mistakes in comparison with the woodblock printing. So I supposed the original text had written before the woodblock text, and the fact that the both version used ‘your majesty’ instead Sunjo tells Sinmilok had been written before the year 1832. The advanced research said that Sinmilok was affected by Jingjungilgi, but there are many difference between them, above all the difference of viewpoint. The similarity between them arose from the characteristic of Jingjungilgi which took extensive record on Honggyungrae rebellion. So I think Sinmilok is not a novel but a kind of record that had been produced by memory on Honggyungrae rebellion, of those days and some people. 「辛未錄」은 坊刻本과 藏書閣 소장의 筆寫本 두 종의 異本이 전하는데, 필사본이 방각본보다 표기나 어휘가 古形이며 오류가 적다. 이로 보아 필사본이 原本에 더 가깝다고 추정된다. 두 이본 모두 序頭에 ‘純祖’를 ‘我朝 聖上’이라고 한 것을 주목하면 原本은 1834년 이전에 만들어졌을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 刊記나 한 면당 글자수 변화 등의 특징으로 보아, 1861년 간행본은 선행하는 刊本의 후반부를 새로 板刻하여 再刊行한 것으로 추정된다. 「辛未錄」은 『陣中日記』를 수용한 것으로 알려져 있지만, 義兵보다는 京軍을 더 비중 있게 다루고 朴基豊을 긍정적으로 형상화하고 있다는 점에는 『陣中日記』와 거리가 있다. 홍경래란에 대한 한 쪽의 시각에 의해서 재구성된 기억이라고 할 수 있으며, ‘殉節한 官吏’의 유형에 맞게 허구화 된 가산군수의 죽음으로도 알 수 있듯 「辛未錄」은 허구적인 ‘소설’이 아닌 홍경래란에 대한 또 하나의 記憶/記錄으로 존재했던 것이다.
