기독교 문화선교에서 효과적인 비언어 코드 활용 연구 : 스킷 드라마 <내 마음의 버스> 배경음악을 중심으로

The skit drama is one of the artistic genres used in cultural missionary work in modern Christian worship and missionary activities. However, there is almost no academic research into skit dramas that include Christian pantomime. In this study the concepts and characteristics of skit dramas were discussed and their pros and cons were the analyzed to better determine how they could be practically used in cultural missionary work. This thesis is a study of the use of nonverbal communication in a 2016 skit drama Bus in My Heart. The study focused on the skit’s background music, which is one of the appearance codes in non-verbal communication. The effects and meanings of the background music were analyzed separately as popular music and as Christian music. The background music, used as a non-verbal appearance code, not only creates an atmosphere for the play, but also serves as a linguistic function that conveys the character s intention as well as the meaning of the story. It also functions to clearly convey the message of the Christian gospel in the skit drama. The application of these functions of background music, in a variety of genres, shows how background music can be used to effectively communicate a message. This paper therefore aims to show modern Christians that the combination of popular music and the domestic Christian skit drama can help deliver the gospel effectively to non-Christians, and that, through this, religious culture can enter popular culture through cultural convergence. 스킷 드라마는 현대의 기독교(개신교) 예배와 선교에서 문화선교의 도구로 사용되는 예술적 장르의 하나이다. 그러나 기독교 무언극으로 된 스킷 드라마에 대한 학문적 축적은 거의 전무한 상태이다. 이에 본고는 스킷 드라마의 개념과 특성을 정립하고 스킷 드라마가 지닌 장단점을 작품의 분석방법을 통해 문화선교에서 어떻게 유용하게 활용될 수 있는지 분석하였다. 본고는 2016년 창작된 스킷 드라마 <내 마음의 버스>에서 사용된 비언어적 커뮤니케이션 활용을 연구하였다. 특히 비언어적 커뮤니케이션에서 외양 코드의 하나인 배경음악에 주안점을 두었는데 스킷 드라마 <내 마음의 버스>에서 사용된 외양 코드로써 배경음악의 효과와 의미에 대해 대중음악과 기독교 음악으로 분리하여 분석하였다. 비언어 외양 코드로 사용되는 배경음악은 극의 분위기 조성뿐만 아니라 등장인물의 의사를 대신 전달하고 캐릭터의 특징을 파악할 수 있으며 극의 상황과 이야기의 의미를 전달하는 언어적 기능도 함께 담당한다. 또한, 배경음악은 스킷 드라마에서 기독교적 복음의 메시지를 명확히 전달하는 기능을 한다. 이는 스킷 드라마 제작에 있어서 국내외 다양한 장르의 배경음악을 사용하여 효과적인 메시지 전달 방안에 대해서도 알 수 있다. 이에 본고는 다양한 대중음악과 기독교 스킷 드라마의 융합으로 현대의 기독교인에게 깨달음을 주고 비기독교인에게는 효과적인 복음전달에 도움이 되고자 하며 더불어 이러한 문화 융합을 통해 종교 문화에서 대중문화로도 발전하는 계기가 되길 바란다.
