본 연구는 야구 경기에서 선발 투수를 위기 상황 이전에 교체하기 위한 의사결정을 지원하는 예측 모델 구현을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 베이스볼 서번트(Baseball Savant)에서 제공하는 메이저리그 스탯캐스트 데이터를 활용하여, 선발 투수를 위기 상황 이전에 선제적으로 교체하는 예측 모델을 구현한다. 이를 위해 첫째, 데이터 탐색을 통해 선발 투수가 경기에서 직면하는 위기 상황을 도출하였다. 둘째, 선발 투수가 이닝 종료 전에 교체된 경우, 이전 이닝에서 교체하는 것으로 레이블을 구성하여 학습을 진행하였다. 학습된 모델을 비교한 결과 앙상블 기법을 기반으로 한 모델이 F1-Score가 65%로 가장 높은 예측 성능을 보였다. 본 연구의 실무적 의의는 제안하는 모델을 통해 선발 투수를 위기 상황 이전에 교체하여 팀의 승리 확률을 높이는 데 기여할 수 있으며, 경기 중 감독은 데이터 기반의 전략적 의사결정 지원을 받을 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study is to implement a predictive model to support decision-making to replace a starting pitcher before a crisis situation in a baseball game. To this end, using the Major League Statcast data provided by Baseball Savant, we implement a predictive model that preemptively replaces starting pitchers before a crisis situation. To this end, first, the crisis situation that the starting pitcher faces in the game was derived through data exploration. Second, if the starting pitcher was replaced before the end of the inning, learning was carried out by composing a label with a replacement in the previous inning. As a result of comparing the trained models, the model based on the ensemble method showed the highest predictive performance with an F1-Score of 65%. The practical significance of this study is that the proposed model can contribute to increasing the team s winning probability by replacing the starting pitcher before a crisis situation, and the coach will be able to receive data-based strategic decision-making support during the game.

한국프로야구에서 투수들의 연봉을 결정하는 중요한 요인들을 선형회귀모형을 통해서 살펴본다. 제안된 모형을 이용하여 투수들의 경기력과 연봉간의 패턴을 분석할 수 있으며, 구단 별로 차이점도 알 수 있다. 사용된 데이터는 2010년부터 2015년까지의 투수 기록과 다음 해의 연봉 자료를 이용하였으며, 고려된 설명변수들은 해당연도, 팀의 종류, 게임 수, 평균자책점, 수비무관 평균자책점, 이닝당 안타 및 볼넷 허용률, 대체선수 대비 승리기여도, 선발출장 게임의 수, 승, 패, 세이브, 투구 이닝수, 자유계약선수 여부, 나이, 경험연수이며 반응변수로는 연봉에 로그를 취한 로그연봉을 사용하였다. 그 결과 선발투수이며 경기수가 많고 승수가 많은 투수들에게 많은 연봉이 지급되고 있고 투수의 고유능력을 평가할 수 있는 기록들은 반영이 작게 되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며 연구의 결과는 연봉 결정에 중요한 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 간주된다. In this paper, we investigate the effects of performance and non-performance variables attributed to Korean professional baseball pitchers on annual salary by the records about pitchers between 2010 and 2016. We select the variables in reference to previous research related to this topic. The models are then estimated using linear regression model. For pitchers, age, experience in the league, year, eligibility for free agency, the number of wins, WAR, the number of innings pitched, the number of games, the number of saves, the number of games started, and type of baseball team have a statistically significant effect. Among the notable factors, affecting pitchers salaries are largely measure of starting pitchers. Pitcher sabermetrics indexes were poorly reflected on annual salary. The model presented here can be used to remove any unobjective salary differences for Korean professional baseball pitchers.
