A Constraint on Lexical Transfer: Implications for Computer-Assisted Translation(CAT)

The central goal of the current paper is to investigate lexical transfer between Korean and English and to identify rule-governed behavior and to provide implications for development of computer-assisted translation(CAT) software for the two languages. It will be shown that Sankoff and Poplack's Free Morpheme Constraint can not account for all the range of data. A constraint is proposed that a set of case-assigners such as verbs, INFL, prepositions, and the possessive marker may not undergo lexical transfer. The translation software is also expected to be equipped with the proposed claim that English verbs are actually borrowed as nouns or as defective verbs to escape from the direct attachment of inflectional morphemes.

A study on the factors and the source of information in PC purchase

This paper presents a direction that can help PC sales manager establish more effective marketing strategy by understanding how they get information on the products and what they consider most when the consumers purchase personal Computer. The survey was conducted on the two groups of OSAN College students classified according to their computer handling skill. Frequency analysis has shown that consumers largely got information on the products through word of mouth of friends or family members rather than mass media advertisement. And factor analysis has shown that consumers consider the qualify of after service has brand name most when they buy PC. Particularly, the consumers who are good at dealing with PC are more concerned with the quality of after service, brand name, salesman's kindness and delivery-installation than the ones having poor PC skills are. This survey results indicate that PC sales managers need to set up different marketing strategies in accordance with the consumer's PC utilizing capability.

Review on improving measurement of cyber terror management system

Damage and attack size of cyber terror is growing to the national size. Not only targeting at a certain companies or individuals but number of cyber terror targeting government bodies or unspecific people is increasing. This is because compared to traditional weapon, input cost is very cheap but ripple effect and shock are much stronger, affecting not only certain groups but also each individuals. 'Anti-terror measurement for protection of nation and public safety' passed last month is one of the renowned measurement passed regardless of objection from opposition party. The opposition party went against this through filibuster for 192 hours but this finally passed National Congress due to lack of oppositions. Korean government is taking post actions after passage of anti-terror measurement. Legislation of enforcement ordinance and regulations is due by 6th of next month. This regulation will be executed from June 4th after legislation. Whenever there is any security issues such as hacking of Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power and National Intelligence Service happens, lot of attention is made to those hackers. However, social recognition or management of those hackers need lot more improvement. Especially, as market of internet of things is increasing, there is an increased anxiety on information security. But as we only rely on security solutions, this problems are keep happening. Therefore, active investment on nurturing hackers who play the role of 'spear and shield' shall be made. Government should put more efforts to allow white hackers to show their abilities. We should have a policy for supporting high-quality programs such as BoB. To make information protection industry into future growth engine, it is necessary to nurture professionals for information protection and white hackers through special programs. Politicians should make related regulations as soon as possible to remove factors that prevent swift management of cyber attack due to lack of legislation. Government should pay lot more financial investment to nurturing professional manpower than now. Protecting life and asset of nation is responsibility and duty of our government. We all should recognize that controlling cyber attack is a part of national defense.

A study on legal improvement on Online P2P financial loan

Along with the recent growth of Fintech industry and low interest rate basis, one of the alternative investment technique for expecting higher investment profit, P2P loan using P2P financial system is greatly increasing. P2P loan can be referred to as a type of Crowdfunding that the law of Crowdfunding (adopted to revised Capital Market Act) enacted on January 25th 2016 only allows investment type Crowdfunding so that it can be used as a tool of raising fund for startup and venture companies. Also, it is true that Korean government could not make any legislative foundation related to P2P loan. At this moment, those online platform companies mediating P2P loan are not included as financial companies, expected to cause various legal arguments. Financial Services Commission has released a guideline in February of this year saying that limit of P2P loan is 10 million Korean Won per arbitrating company and 5 million Korean Won per borrower. However, what is more important is to make a law supporting this institutional system. If legislation on P2P loan is implemented without care, it may disturb growth of the field but it may result in the damage of investors if not clearly defined by law. As this is the case, first, "revision of execution regulations for loan business" should take place as soon as possible to intensify inspection of loan companies by registering them to Financial Services Commission. Second, saving customer fund separately in the their organization. Third, making law on protecting investors such as regulating exaggerative advertisement. Fourth, to have transparent and fair public announcement system, standardized agreement and guideline describing clear understanding on autonomous public information publication of P2P loan online platform business and information on the borrower.

Multimedia Expert System for a Nuclear Power Plant Accident diagnosis using a Fuzzy Inference Method

The huge and complicated plants such as nuclear power stations are likely to cause the operators to make mistakes due to a variety of inexplicable reasons and symptoms in case of emergency. Thats why the prevention system assisting the operators is being developed for. First of all. I suggest an improved fuzzy diagnosis. Secondly. I want to demonstrate that a classification system of nuclear plants accident investigating the causes of accidents foresees possible problems. and maintains the reliability of the diagnostic reports in spite of improper working in part. In the event of emergency in a nuclear plant, a lot of operational steps enable the operators to find out what caused the problems based on an emergent operating plan. Our system is able to classify their types within twenty to thirty seconds. As so, we expect the system to put don the accidents right after the rapid detection of the damage control-method concerned. 복잡한 공정계통들로 구성된 원자력 발전소에서 정상적인 운전상태를 벗어나 이상사태로 진행될때 이를 조기에 진단하고 사고를 예방할 수 있는 제반 조치를 적절히 취하는 것은 플렌트 가동율을 향상시키고 사고의 심각성을 줄이기 위한 필수요건이 된다 이상사태 발생시 과도현상의 원인과 증상은 모호하고 복잡한 인과관계를 갖기 때문에 운전원의 실수를 유발할 수 있으므로 운전원을 지원할 수 있는 사고진단 시스템의 개발이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 일반화된 퍼지 추론 알고리즘의 개선된 퍼지진단방법론을 제시하고, 사고초기단계에서 주요 운전변수의 거동 변화에 따른 사고원인 및 사고유형을 정확하게 예측하고 일부 입력의 오류에도 진단의 신뢰성을 유지할 수 있는 원자력 발전소 사고유형 분류 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다.

A Study on the Labor Director System of Public Institutions in the Degital Age

The labor director system to be introduced into the company law, the labor director must be explained in the Korean company law and the inevitability of its introduction must be persuaded. Conflicts with shareholders' right to appoint institutions are also a task that must be resolved. Management has absolute meaning for shareholders who receive dividends from operating profit. On the other hand, for workers who are guaranteed the right to collective action and are paid for their labor according to the contract law and the labor law, the management must be considered as a partner in labor-management cooperation, so the labor director system may cause confusion. There are growing calls to create a system that can form a 'relationship of understanding, participation, and cooperation', away from the existing 'control and command'-centered manpower management that causes labor-management confrontation and the system can also serve as an opportunity to reduce harmful effects of high-handed personnel administration in public institutions.

The Effect of Bag-Valve Mask Using Skill Education with Flowmeter

This study is to evaluate the intervention effect using a flowmeter in bag-valve mask skill education. The purpose of this study was to compare the accuracy of bag-valve mask skill between intervention group with flowmeter and control group without flowmeter, understand the improvement effect of skill education of bag-valve mask, and provide basic data to suggest the method of skill education. The total number of subjects of this study was 60, with 30 intervention group and 30 control group. In comparison of the optimal number of normal tidal volume range at pre-test and post-test, the normal range percentages of the intervention group before and after education were 32.8% and 86.7%, respectively, and there was a significant difference(p<0.01). The normal range percentages of the control group before and after education were 20.0% and 34.7%, respectively, and there was a significant difference(p<0.05). To evaluate the factors associated with good performance of bag-valve mask skill of the subjects including the normal range of tidal volume, the logistic regression analysis has been performed, and the significant influential factors were gender(10.305, 1.20-87.98), educational experience of field practice(31.674, 1.25-805.16), and intervention(92.750, 4.58-1879.69). Through this study, it was confirmed that the intervention using flowmeter for the skill education of bag-valve mask was effective, and it is necessary to consider reflecting it in the education of students majoring in emergency medical technology in the future.

Level Conversion Scheme for Improving Performance of RAID 5 on Single Disk Failure

주문형 멀티미디어 시스템 등 사용자 요구에 실시간 응답을 하여야하는 저장시스템 구조에 있어, 단일 디스크 고장시 즉각적인 데이타 복구는 상당히 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 RAID5구조에 있어 단일디스크 고장시 새로운 디스크가 교체되기 전까지 유발되는 급격한 성능저하를 RAID 레벨 전환 기법을 이용하여 개선하고자 한다. 이 기법은 기존의 연구에서 제시된 예비 디스크 기법에 비해 추가의 디스크를 필요로 하지 않는 저가형 시스템에 적합하다. 제안된 기법과 기존의 RAID5구조는 시뮬레이션을 통하여 여러 모드에서 성능이 측정되었다. 측정 결과 제안된 기법은 실패모드에서는 20%, 재구성모드에서는 80%이상의 성능 개선을 보인다. It is very important to recover data immediately at a single disk failure for critical applications such as multimedia storage systems. real-time systems and so on. As an efficient solution, this paper proposes that RAID level conversion scheme to improve the performance before a failed disk is replaced with a new disk. By using this scheme, it does not require an additional disk to recover data. Comparing with previous studies, this scheme is appropriate to low cost system that has not additional redundant device. The performance of proposed scheme is evaluated and analyzed with that of RAID level 5 for various requested sizes through the simulation. The results show that the performance of the proposed scheme is improved up to 20 percents compared with that of RAID level 5 at the failure mode and 80 percents at reconfigured mode.

Research on impulse purchase of live e-commerce platform users based on ELM model in China

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influencing factors and mechanism of the characteristics of the live broadcast e-commerce platform and the characteristics of the host on the impulse purchase intention of live broadcast viewers. Based on the ELM model, this study complements existing research content. This study adopts the form of questionnaire survey and conducts empirical analysis using SPSS, AMOS, Mplus and other analysis software for online live broadcast users. The results show that the characteristics of live broadcast platforms have a positive impact on consumers' flow experience and satisfaction; the personal characteristics of anchors have a positive impact on consumers' flow experience and satisfaction; consumers' flow experience and satisfaction have a positive impact on impulse Purchase intention has a positive impact, and flow experience and satisfaction have a mediating effect on the characteristics of the live broadcast platform and the personal characteristics of the host.

An Analysis on Employing Developer Profit Incentive to Expedite Open Source Software Development

This paper analyzes the effect of profit incentives within the setting of bounty open source project. A simple decision-making model based on classical utility maximization is presented for open source developers that includes income effects from the bounty prize. We then simulate the decisions of multiple developers to assess the effect from the bounty prize. Our result shows that learning costs can greatly reduce the software quality improvement benefit from bounty project. It also suggests that open source projects can benefit more when they have multiple small bounty projects than a single large bounty project since it reduces the learning cost and the opportunity cost for the open source developers.
