Wide input/output control strategy for multiphase series capacitor bidirectional DC-DC converters

Guo, Zheng,Wang, Yubin,Wang, Fan,Tian, Xinna,Dong, Yuxiang The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2021 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.21 No.5

The series capacitor converter is one kind of high-gain bidirectional DC-DC converter based on interleaved and switched capacitor techniques. For the n-phase series capacitor converter, n times voltage gain when compared with the traditional boost converter under a specific duty cycle, as well as automatic current sharing among phases can be achieved. The specific duty cycle is (n - 1)/n to 1 in the boost mode and 0 to 1/n in the buck mode, which means that it is not suitable for wide input and/or wide output applications. To solve this issue, an 180° interleaved switching strategy is proposed in this paper. The proposed strategy is more suitable for converters to widen the working duty cycle range. The working principle, voltage gain and current distribution/sharing characteristics with the duty cycle ranging from 0 to 1 are analyzed and calculated in greater detail. In addition, as one of the n-phase series capacitor converters, a small signal model of a three-phase series capacitor converter is built, and a dual closed-loop controller is studied and designed. Finally, an experimental prototype with an input voltage that varies from 10 to 30 V and an output voltage of 100 V is built and tested. Results obtained with the prototype verify the correctness of the proposed switching strategy.

A dual-experience pool deep reinforcement learning method and its application in fault diagnosis of rolling bearing with unbalanced data

        Yuxiang Kang,Guo Chen,Wenping Pan,Xunkai Wei,Hao Wang,Zhiyuan He 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.6

A dual-experience pool deep reinforcement learning (DEPDRL) model is proposed for rolling bearing fault diagnosis with unbalanced data. In this method, a dualexperience pool structure is designed to store the sample data of majority and minority classes. A parallel double residual network model is established to extract deep features of the majority and minority input samples, respectively. In the process of training, the proposed balanced cross-sampling technique is used to randomly select samples from dual-experience pool in a certain proportion to realize the training of a double residual network model. We show the effectiveness of our method on three standard data sets, and compared with Resnet18, DCNN, DQN and DQNimb methods, the results show that DEPDRL has the best performance. Finally, with wavelet time-frequency graph as input, DEPDRL is applied to rolling bearing fault diagnosis with unbalanced test data. The results show that on a variety of unbalanced data sets, both the diagnostic accuracy and the G-means value of the DEPDRL are more than 5 % higher than other algorithms, which fully indicates that the DEPDRL has a very high fault diagnosis ability of rolling bearing with unbalanced data.

Experimental study on shear performance of partially precast Castellated Steel Reinforced Concrete (CPSRC) beams

        Yong Yang,Yunlong Yu,Yuxiang Guo,Charles W. Roeder,Yicong Xue,Yongjian Shao 국제구조공학회 2016 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.21 No.2

A new kind of partially precast or prefabricated castellated steel reinforced concrete beam, which is abbreviated here as CPSRC beam, was presented and introduced in this paper. This kind of CPSRC beam is composed of a precast outer-part and a cast-in-place inner-part. The precast outer-part is composed of an encased castellated steel shape, reinforcement bars and high performance concrete. The cast-in-place inner-part is made of common strength concrete, and is casted with the floor slabs simultaneously. In order to investigate the shear performance of the CPSRC beam, experiments of six CPSRC T-beam specimens, together with experiments of one cast-in-place SRC control T-beam specimen were conducted. All the specimens were subjected to sagging bending moment (or positive moment). In the tests, the influence of casting different strength of concrete in the cross section on the shear performance of the PPSRC beam was firstly emphasized, and the effect of the shear span-to-depth ratio on that were also especially taken into account too. During the tests, the shear force-deflection curves were recorded, while the strains of concrete, the steel shapes as well as the reinforcement stirrups at the shear zone of the specimens were also measured, and the crack propagation pattern together with the failure pattern was as well observed in detail. Based on the test results, the shear failure mechanism was clearly revealed, and the effect of the concrete strength and shear span-to-depth ratios were investigated. The shear capacity of such kind of CPSRC was furthermore discussed, and the influences of the holes on the steel shape on the shear performance were particularly analyzed.

      • Suppression of GHS-R in AgRP Neurons Mitigates Diet-Induced Obesity by Activating Thermogenesis

        Wu, Chia-Shan,Bongmba, Odelia Y. N.,Yue, Jing,Lee, Jong Han,Lin, Ligen,Saito, Kenji,Pradhan, Geetali,Li, De-Pei,Pan, Hui-Lin,Xu, Allison,Guo, Shaodong,Xu, Yong,Sun, Yuxiang MDPI AG 2017 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR SCIENCES Vol.18 No.4

<P>Ghrelin, an orexigenic hormone released primarily from the gut, signals the hypothalamus to stimulate growth hormone release, enhance appetite and promote weight gain. The ghrelin receptor, aka Growth Hormone Secretagogue Receptor (GHS-R), is highly expressed in the brain, with highest expression in Agouti-Related Peptide (AgRP) neurons of the hypothalamus. We recently reported that neuron-specific deletion of GHS-R completely prevents diet-induced obesity (DIO) in mice by activating non-shivering thermogenesis. To further decipher the specific neuronal circuits mediating the metabolic effects of GHS-R, we generated AgRP neuron-specific GHS-R knockout mice (<I>AgRP-Cre</I>;<I>Ghsrf/f</I>). Our data showed that GHS-R in AgRP neurons is required for ghrelin’s stimulatory effects on growth hormone secretion, acute food intake and adiposity, but not for long-term total food intake. Importantly, deletion of GHS-R in AgRP neurons attenuated diet-induced obesity (DIO) and enhanced cold-resistance in mice fed high fat diet (HFD). The HFD-fed knockout mice showed increased energy expenditure, and exhibited enhanced thermogenic activation in both brown and subcutaneous fat; this implies that GHS-R suppression in AgRP neurons enhances sympathetic outflow. In summary, our results suggest that AgRP neurons are key site for GHS-R mediated thermogenesis, and demonstrate that GHS-R in AgRP neurons plays crucial roles in governing energy utilization and pathogenesis of DIO.</P>
