Performance Analysis of Local Asset Based Industry Development Project in Korea

This study focused on analyzing how much effects rural industrialization support projects have on rural regions. The actual conditions of rural indu-strialization policy support projects were examined and their performance was analyzed. We can see that a rural industry development policy such as the Local Asset Based Industry Development Project (LAIDP) discussed in this study is important as a support strategy directed at underdeveloped regions. According to the results of the performance analysis of the LAIDP, it is analyzed that the project has a positive effect of generating 2.2-5.5 billion won per project zone, an estimation which does not include indirect effects such as the employment effect and farm income. The study confirmed that the project has a positive effect in the regions when it is underway and that continuous undertaking of a rural industry development policy such as the LAIDP can bring about regional effects.
난방모드 시 CO₂ 지열히트펌프의 내부열교환기에 대한 운전특성

This paper presents operating characteristics of internal heat exchanger(IHX) for CO₂ geothermal heat pump in the heating mode. Mass flow rate of CO₂, inlet temperatures of CO₂ at high and low pressure side were selected as main effect factors by using fractional factorial DOE(Design of Experiments). And RSM(Response Surface Method) was used in optimization phase. The results show that heat transfer rate of IHX increases when either inlet temperature of low pressure side decreases or inlet temperature of high pressure side increases. Effectiveness of IHX increases with increasing of inlet temperature of either high pressure side or low pressure side. Finally, performance contour map was provided over the operation ranges of the main design factors.

As metal nanostructures demonstrated extraordinary plasmon resonance, their optical characteristics have widely been investigated in photo-electronic applications. However, there has been no clear demonstration on the location effect of plasmonic metal layer within the photoanode on both optical characteristics and photovoltaic performances. In this research, the gold (Au) nano-islands (NIs) film was embedded at different positions within the TiO2 nanoparticulate photoanode in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) to check the effect of plasmon resonance location on the device performance; at the top, in the middle, at the bottom of the TiO2 photoanode, and also at all the three positions. The Au NIs were fabricated by annealing a Au thin film at 550 °C. The DSSC having the Au NIs-embedded TiO2 photoanode exhibited an increase in short circuit currents (Jsc) and power conversion efficiency (PCE) owing to the plasmon resonance absorption. Thus, the PCE was increased from 5.92% (reference: only TiO2 photoanode) to 6.52% when the Au NIs film was solely positioned at the bottom, in the middle or at the top of TiO2 film. When the Au NIs films were placed at all the three positions, the Jsc was increased by 16% compared to the reference cell, and consequently the PCE was further increased to 7.01%.
수평관 내 이산화탄소의 냉각 열전달 및 압력강하 특성에 관한 연구

This paper presents the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics during cooling process of carbon dioxide in a horizontal tube. The experiments were conducted using a counter now heat exchanger without oil in refrigerant loop. The main components of the apparatus consist of a receiver, a variable speed pump, a mass flowmeter, a pre-heater, a gas cooler(test section) and an isothermal tank. The test section is a tube in tube type heat exchanger with refrigerant flowing in the inner tube and water no wing in the annulus. It was made of a stainless steel tube with the inner diameter of 7.75 [mm], the outer diameter of 9.53 [mm] and length of 6000 [mm]. The refrigerant mass nuxes were 200-400 [kg/㎡s] and the average pressure varied from 7.5 [MPa] to 10.0 [MPa]. The main results were summarized as follows: The heat transfer coefficient of supercritical CO₂ increases in decrease of the gas cooler pressure. And the heat transfer coefficient increases with respect to the increase of the refrigerant mass flux. Among some correlations proposed in a transcritical region, Bringer-Smith's correlation has some analogy with experimental results. The pressure drop decreases in increase of the gas cooler pressure and increases with respect to increase the refrigerant mass flux.
Electroluminescence from Graphene Quantum Dots Prepared by Amidative Cutting of Tattered Graphite

<P>Size-controlled graphene quantum dots (GQDs) are prepared via amidative cutting of tattered graphite. The power of this method is that the size of the GQDs could be varied from 2 to over 10 nm by simply regulating the amine concentration. The energy gaps in such GQDs are narrowed down with increasing their size, showing colorful photoluminescence from blue to brown. We also reveal the roles of defect sites in photoluminescence, developing long-wavelength emission and reducing exciton lifetime. To assess the viability of the present method, organic light-emitting diodes employing our GQDs as a dopant are first demonstrated with the thorough studies in their energy levels.
