Nonlinear piezoelectric structure for ultralow-frequency band vibration energy harvesting with magnetic interaction

Xiuting Sun,Feng Wang,Jian Xu 한국정밀공학회 2019 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.6 No.4

In order to realize the energy harvesting structure working for an external perturbation or ultralow-frequency excitation, a continuous structure with adjustable nonlinearity is proposed and analyzed. The novel energy harvesting structure is consisted of a piezoelectric elastic beam and two pairs of magnets. Different from normal assembly of magnets in the same direction of the vibration motion, two pairs of magnets are assembled vertically to the vibration direction to induce adjustable nonlinear restoring force similar as the pre-deformed elastic components in so-called quasi-zero-stiffness system. With the model of magnets, the interaction energy and interaction force are obtained. Considering the the piezoelectric cantilever beam, it can realize a multi-stable vibration structure. The zero equilibrium is stable and the interaction energy there is very high, while there are two symmetry stable equilibriums with very low interaction energy. Thus, for small-amplitude and ultralow-frequency excitations from natural phenomenon such as dropping raining, the structure can have large-amplitude vibration with adjustable output frequency. At last, we realize the proposed vibration energy harvester by designing the structural according to the theoretical analysis. The structure of this study has potentially remarkable applications in intelligent and sustainable power generation.

On classical solutions and the classical limit of the Vlasov-Darwin system

        Xiuting Li,Jiamu Sun 대한수학회 2018 대한수학회보 Vol.55 No.5

In this paper we study the initial value problem of the non-relativistic Vlasov-Darwin system with generalized variables (VDG). We first prove local existence and uniqueness of a nonnegative classical solution to VDG in three space variables, and establish the blow-up criterion. Then we show that it converges to the well-known Vlasov-Poisson system when the light velocity $c$ tends to infinity in a pointwise sense.

Investigating the Influences of Wet Fiber Laser Cutting Upon the Surface Integrity of Nitinol Cardiovascular Stents

        Xiaoyu Sun,Xiuting Wei,Zhiyong Li,Deda Lou,Yongqi Wang,Hanqing Liu 한국정밀공학회 2021 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.22 No.7

High precision laser cutting with minimal post-treatment is needed in the manufacturing of nitinol cardiovascular stents. This paper carries out a series of cutting experiments of nitinol cardiovascular stents by wet fiber laser cutting to understand the basic process characteristics and to investigate the influences of process parameters (laser power, cutting speed, pulse width, frequency) upon the surface integrity (surface topography, dross, surface roughness, HAZ, recast layer, subsurface nanohardness, surface chemical composition). The univariate analysis was used to analyze and explain the influence that rules of process parameters had upon the surface integrity. The experiment results showed that the effects of process parameters on surface integrity were regular, with the optimal single-factor parameters obtained. Moreover, the removal mechanism of the nitinol material was also revealed. This study is of great significance for the medical industry in improve the cutting quality of cardiovascular stents.

The time-delay coupling nonlinear effect in sky-hook control of vibration isolation systems using Magneto-Rheological Fluid dampers

Huijie Yu,Xiuting Sun,Jian Xu,Pei Zheng 대한기계학회 2016 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.30 No.9

The effect of the nonlinearity and time delay in the Magneto-Rheological fluid (MRF) damper on an isolator system is studied in this study. The mechanical model of the control force of the MRF damper in the skyhook control is introduced as nonlinear piecewise function. The displacement transmissibility of the isolation system is solved by employing the Averaging method. The isolation effectiveness for different values of control coefficients is demonstrated by the displacement transmissibility. The increasing of damping control force of MRF damper reduces the displacement transmissibility to a low level while time delay has different functions in different frequency bands. Moreover, by the analysis of eigenvalues in the manifold given by Averaging method, the unstable and stable region of the steady state can be decided on the parameter plane, which provides the bifurcation criterion induced by nonlinearity and time delay. The main results from theoretical analysis and experimental prototype give an insight into the analysis and design of semi-active control with time delay in control loop and signal processing for isolator system by exploiting nonlinear benefits in vibration suppression effectiveness.

Analysis of the non-resonance of nonlinear vibration isolation system with dry friction

Huijie Yu,Yahui Xu,Xiuting Sun 대한기계학회 2018 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.32 No.4

We studied the properties of cubic nonlinear systems with dry friction damping on the prospect of ‘non-resonance’. An approximate method was used to get the frequency-response function. And the critical dry friction which ensures no displacement transmissibility amplified in whole frequency range was determined through the frequency-response function. We also researched those characters which may influence the effect of the non-resonance in this system, and proved those results by empirical experiments. The above conclusions have a theoretical significance for the design of nonlinear vibration isolators.
