본 연구는 중국주식 투자에 관심이 있는 한국투자자들이 고려해야 할 중국의 외국인 주식투자 관련 제도와 거래비용에 대하여 체계적으로 정리하고자 하였다. 먼저, 중국 주식시장에 대한 외국인 투자를 허용하되 이를 안정적으로 이행하기 위해 도입된 QFII제도를 이해하기 위해 중국 주식시장과 중국의 국제투자 제도에 대해 소개하였다. 이런 제도 아래서 현재 중국주식투자에 관심을 갖는 한국 투자자가 선택할 수 있는 투자채널을 제시하고, 각 채널별로 투자 사이클에 따라 관련된 세금 및 비용을 체계적으로 정리하였다. 이를 위해, 한국 개인투자자의 입장에서 직접투자와 간접투자를 구분하여 중국 주식 시장의 구체적인 투자진행과정을 자세하게 서술하였으며, 각 과정에서 발생하는 거래비용과 세금을 정리하였다. 본 연구는 QFII제도의 도입이 중국주식시장에 어떤 영향을 주는 지를 중심으로 진행되어 왔던 기존연구에 비해 실질적으로 QFII제도 하에서 한국투자자가 중국 주식시장에 투자를 할 때 어떤 형식으로 투자를 진행 할 수 있고 또한 투자 수익금에 대해 얼마만큼의 세금을 부담해야 하는지에 대한 것과 같은 투자자의 실질적인 관심사에 해답을 제시하고자 하였고, 이런 취지의 추후 연구를 위한 기초와 토대를 제공하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다. Along with the rapid development of Chinese economy, there are more and more Korean investors interested in investing in Chinese stock markets. However, Chinese government wants to open its security markets to foreigners in a gradual and controlled manner. So it designed and introduced the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFII) system in 2002. Under this scheme, there are three investment channels for Korean investors to access the Chinese stock markets. Two are related to direct investments by themselves either in China or in Korea. The other is linked to indirect investment through China equity funds sold in Korea. Typical transaction costs and taxes for three channels are identified and described respectively. This effort will be useful when a Korean individual investor makes a choice among in investment channels to Chinese stock markets.

Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Epimedium brevicornu Maxim Ethanol Extract

Epimedium brevicornu Maxim has been used as a traditional herbal drug in China. In this study, the anti-inflammatory effects of E. brevicornu Maxim ethanol extract (EBME) were investigated in RAW264.7 macrophages and mice challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Results showed that EBME attenuated inflammation by decreasing the production of several proinflammatory mediators, such as nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin (PG) E2, inducible nitric oxide synthase, and cyclooxygenase-2, in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. EBME increased the expression of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and promoted the nuclear translocation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2. The inhibitory effects of EBME on LPS-stimulated NO and PGE2 expression were partially reversed by HO-1 inhibitor. EBME also elicited an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the production of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-6 in LPS-induced peritonitis. Therefore, EBME exhibited anti-inflammatory effects in vitro and in vivo.
