Multi-harmonic Suppression Band-Pass Filter for Communication System

For the purpose of decreasing intermodulation distortion, a new multi-harmonic suppression band-pass filter based on a microstrip radial stub is studied. Compared with traditional resonator filters, the new filter can suppress the second, third, and even fourth harmonics directly. The dimension of the filter is about 0.3 λg0×0.13 λg0 (λg0 is the guiding wavelength at the resonant frequency). Only one gap was introduced, so lower insertion loss can be obtained. Basic agreement between the measured and simulated results has been achieved.
A Co-design Study of Filters and Oscillator for Low Phase Noise and High Harmonic Rejection

In this paper, we present a novel oscillator (OSC) design. Bandpass filters, which can suppress harmonics, are incorporated into a co-design with an OSC to improve the OSC phase noise and harmonic rejection. The proposed OSC/bandpass filter co-design achieves a phase noise of - 130.1 dBc/Hz/600 kHz and harmonic rejection of 37.94 dB and 40.85 dB for the second and third harmonics, respectively, as compared to results achieved by the OSC before co-design of - 101.6 dBc/Hz/600 kHz and 21.28 dB and 19.68 dB. Good agreement between the measured and simulated results is achieved.
Differential Dual-Frequency Antenna for Wireless Communication

A novel differential dual-frequency antenna using proximity coupling is proposed. Dual bands are realized by a slot in the ground plane. The lower resonant frequency is controlled by the slot in the ground plane, and the upper resonant frequency is mainly determined by the dimensions of the radiating patch. Measured results show that the proposed antenna can operate at 2.51 GHz and 5.38 GHz.

Themetastasis-associated gene 1 (MTA1) oncogene hasbeen suggested to be involved in the regulation of cancer progression. However, there is still no direct evidence that MTA1 regulates cisplatin (CDDP) resistance, as well as cancer stem cell properties. In this study, we found that MTA1 was enriched in CNE1/CDDP cells. Knock down of MTA1 in CNE1/CDDP cells reversed CSCs properties and CDDP resistance. However, ectopic expression of MTA1 in CNE1 cells induced CSCs phenotypes and CDDP insensitivity. Interestingly, ectopic overexpression of MTA1-induced CSCs properties and CDDP resistance were reversed in CNE1 cells after inhibition of PI3K/Akt by LY294002. In addition, MTA1 expression and Akt activity in CNE1/CDDP cells was much higher than that in CNE1 cells. These results suggested that MTA1 may play a critical role in promoting CDDP resistance in NPC cells by regulatingcancer stem cell properties via thePI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Our findings suggested that MTA1 may be a potential target for overcoming CDDP resistance in NPC therapy.

Design of Balanced Dual-Band Bandpass Filter with Self-Feedback Structure

A balanced dual-band bandpass filter based on λ/2 stepped-impedance resonators and open-loop resonators is proposed in this letter. By employing a type of self-feedback structure, an extra transmission zero is introduced near the common-mode resonance frequency, and the common-mode signal is suppressed. The measured results indicate that the filter can operate in 2.46 GHz and 5.6 GHz bands, and the insertion loss is 1.85 dB and 1.9 dB, respectively. Also, better common-mode suppression is achieved.
Design for a Dual-Frequency Antenna-in-Package

For an antenna-in-package (AiP), via holes are used to connect the antenna ground and system ground. In this letter, a dual-frequency AiP with a U-slot embedded in the patch is proposed. By properly arranging three via holes under the non-radiating edge, an AiP with two resonant frequencies is realized. Then a U-slot is embedded in the patch to further improve the bandwidth of the AiP. To validate the proposed design, an AiP with the bandwidth of 4.49% at 2.45 GHz and 6.02% at 5.32 GHz is achieved and fabricated. The measured results agree with the simulated results.
