      • Selection of Ontology Engineering Environment for Product - Service System

        Product-Service system (PSS) is a new business concept in which companies offer value added services to customers along with products. The concept of PSS is not fully developed yet and is at rudimentary stage therefore developing a standard ontology for PSS can help researchers and practitioners to communicate and share their views without ambiguity and thus encourage the conception and implementation of useful methods and tools. Only a few researches can be found that worked on developing a standard ontology for PSS. While developing domain or standard ontology for PSS the selection of ontology engineering environment becomes important as PSS comes with new requirements, such as multi-stakeholder involvement, concurrent user’s access, process description, representation of relationships etc. Therefore, in this paper we make a comparison between different development environments from PSS ontology perspective, with the aim of assisting users in selecting an appropriate tool for creating PSS ontology. We draw comparison between Protege, Hozo and Aras Innovator, which provide development environment and are most commonly used. Comparison is based on functional and non-functional requirements for PSS development. At the end, based on comparison, a recommendation is given for selection of appropriate development environment for PSS.
