Human Robotics Research Center (HRRC) has established in 2013 as an R&D center. Our objective is implement robots at the site of rehabilitation and nursing care. HRRC is working on the research and development of wearable auxiliary tool for behavior assistance of elderly who requires nursing care in cooperation with Kashiihara Hospital since 2015. Purpose of this research is to develop wearable device that can be reduce body burden of caregivers who carry out standing assistance / transfer assistance frequently at bathing care. We started this activity in 2015, and we have made 2 mockups so far. In 2016, a verification experiment of standing assistance / transfer assistance was conducted using prototype-1 that made based on the advice from Kashiihara hospital. As a result of the verification experiment, we assume 1st prototype will reduce the burden on caregivers. In the future, we will study "Powered Exoskeleton for Bathing Care" which applied ultra-mini hydraulic technology for body assistance and “Wearable Auxiliary Tool” that does not have body assistance".
What Factors Mediate Individual Differences in Color Matching?

We aimed to specify physiological factors which mediate individual differences in color matching. In previous studies, we found that the deviations of the color matching for the red-green direction is correlated with the macular pigment density. However, the factors causing blue-yellow deviation were not clarified. In this study, we performed a color matching experiment using metamers with the identical tristimulus values and an identical amount of the macular pigment absorption to examine the deviations of the color matching in the blue-yellow direction. As a result, there was a correlation between color matching deviations and the amounts of light absorbed by lens for each metamer, suggesting that the deviations of color matching in blue-yellow direction may be due to the amount absorbed of lens. These results suggest that individual difference in color matching in short wavelength light is strongly mediated by these two physiological properties of the eye.

The Human Robotics Research Center at Kyushu Sangyo University was established in 2013 as a practical center for the study of robots designed for rehabilitation and care-support. The HRRC seeks to implement robots intended for the medical and care fields to address problems in those fields. We have focused on the development of rehabilitation robots for spinal cord injury patients. Here, we present three different robots we have developed for standing-motion training, primary-walking-pattern training, and practical-walking training.
