The Emery model for the HTS cuprates:oxygen role reexamined
Ivana Mrkonjic,Slaven Barisic 한국물리학회 2004 Current Applied Physics Vol.4 No.5
Mean field slave boson approximation is performed analytically on the extended Emery model for the CuO2 conducting plane. The model is parameterized by CuO charge transfer energyDpd, copperoxygen overlapt0, oxygenoxygen overlapt0and CoulombinteractionU on the copper site taken as innite. Special emphasis is placed on the role oft0 in the renormalization trends of theeective band parametersDpf and t, replacingDpd and t0, at small dopingd. It is shown that small, negativet0expands the range ofstability of the metallic phase, changing, through the higher order corrections int0, the nature of the metalinsulator transitionpoint. In the non-perturbative limit,t0modies qualitatively the renormalization ofDpf, making it saturate at the value of 4jt0j. Finitedoping suppresses the insulating state approximately symmetrically with respect to its sign. The regimeDpf . 4jt0j ts very well theARPES spectra of Y123, Bi2212 and LSCO and also explains, in the latter case, the evolution of the FS with doping accompanied bythe spectral weight transfer from the oxygen to the resonant band.
