Feature-based fuzzy control adaptive finite-element mesh generation for electromagnetic fields

Considering the feature-based initial mesh generation and the a posteriori error estimator, a fuzzy control adaptive finite-element mesh generation method is presented. The error of potential derivative of each element is regarded as the input of fuzzy controller. Fuzzy rules and reasoning mechanism are constructed. Consequently, the size of the elements and refinement of mesh can be controlled. Applications suggest that this method has advantages such as fast convergence and reasonable element distribution, with strong adaptation.
HYBRID NVH DESIGN SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF GENERAL CROSS-SECTION BEAMS

This paper presents a hybrid process for design sensitivity analysis(DSA) of Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) responses with respect to general cross-section beam design parameters. Design parameters associated with general cross-section beams are overall height, overall width, and part thicknesses. In the hybrid process, NVH design sensitivities are computed using the chain rule of differentiation combining sizing and shape DSA results to get the total derivative. The beam design sensitivity expressions are analytically derived using the continuum approach and the adjoint variable method. NVH DSA is implemented external to the FEA program, MSC/NASTRAN. A simplified box model is used to validate and illustrate the approach.<br/>
Topology optimization of electromagnetic systems considering magnetization direction

The topology optimization of electromagnetic (EM) systems considering the effect of the magnetization direction in the magnet is investigated using the finite element method. The density method is used for topology optimization and continuum design sensitivity analysis is used for the sensitivity of EM systems. Also ANSYS is used for analysis. The force of a magnet is divided into two components of x and y direction in the rectangular coordinates. And the topology optimization of a c-core and a brushless dc motor are obtained.
