Heavy metals and metalloids removal can be considered as one of the most important world challenges because of their toxicity and direct impact on human health. Many processes have been introduced but biological processes of remediation seem to offer the most suitable solution in terms of efficiency and low cost. Actinobacteria constitute one of the major microbial populations in soil, and this can be attributed to their adaptive morphological structure as well as their exceptional metabolic power. Among microbes, actinobacteria are morphologic intermediate between fungi and bacteria. Studies on microbial diversities in metal contaminated lands have shown that actinobacteria may constitute a dominantly active microbiota in addition to α Proteobacteria. Furthermore, isolation studies have shown metal removal mechanisms which are reminiscent of notable multiresistant strains, such as Cupriavidus metallidurans. Apart from members of genus Streptomyces, which produce more than 90% of commercialized antibiotics, and the nitrogen fixing Frankia, little attention has been given to other members of this phylum. This is because of difficult culture condition requirements and maintenance. In this review, we focused on specific isolation of actinobacteria and their potential applications in metal bioremediation and plant growth promotion.

Numerous powder manufacturing industries such as food and pharmaceutical require the use of mixers to ensure that loaded materials meet a certain level of uniformity to procure an end-product of a high standard. Studies concerning mixing issues still do not fully cover the choice of the optimal mixer parameters. In this paper, we investigated the effects of filling configuration and the number of paddles on the mixing rate in a single-shaft paddle mixer. We used bi-colored corn grains as solid particles and employed discrete element simulations using LIGGGHTS-PUBLIC®. To calculate the static friction, rolling friction, and the coefficient of restitution, we applied the box discharging technique. The coordinates-based mixing rate socalled nearest-neighbor index was employed to quantitatively examine the different mixing rates along the mixing period according to two variables, namely, filling type and paddle number. Filling one type of particles then filling the other type on top of it in the mixer achieves better mixing efficiency compared with sidewise filling of particles. The use of a high number of paddles improves the mixture uniformity, while using more than five paddles has no further impact on the mixture. Also, mixing is more efficient when dealing with particles that have the same or different number of clumps, whereas mixing spherical grains with five-sphere clump grains decreases the mixing efficiency considerably.

Solution to some singular integro-differential equations II
J. N. Pandey,?F. Seifeddine 장전수학회 2006 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.13 No.1
In this paper we give solutions to some singular integro dierential equations of the types dydt+ a(t)Hy = f(t) (i) d2ydt2 + a(t)Hy = f(t) (ii) in the space of almost periodic functions, almost periodic distributions or semi-almost periodic distributions where a(t), b(t), and f(t) are all almost periodic functions or distributions or semi-almost periodic distributions and H is the operator of Hilbert transformations over these spaces. The equations (i) and (ii) are independent of each other and so also the coefficients a(t), b(t) and the input functions f(t). It is difficult if not impossible to find the general solutions to the above equations in terms of their coefficients and the input functions and thus it remains an open problem. We will therefore indicate the method of solving these equations by solving some specific cases which without any loss of generality will give the method of finding the general solution to the above integro-differential equations..
