Dual channel closed-loop supply chain coordination with a reward-driven remanufacturing policy

<P>This paper investigates a reward-driven policy, employed in a closed-loop supply chain (CLSC), for acquiring used products earmarked for remanufacture. Under the examined model, a single manufacturer sells products through a retailer as well as directly to end users in a forward supply chain. In the reverse supply chain, three different modes of collection are employed to capture used products for remanufacture: they are through a third party, directly by the manufacturer and from the retailer. Mathematical models for both non-cooperative and centralised scenarios are developed to characterise the pricing decisions and remanufacturing strategies that indicate individual and overall supply chain performance. Optimality of all the proposed models is examined with theory. To coordinate and achieve a win-win outcome for channel members, we proposed a three-way discount mechanism for the manufacturer. Extended numerical investigation provides insights on ways to manage an efficient reward-driven CLSC in a dual-channel environment.</P>
Consumer engagement in village eco-tourism: A case of the cleanest village in Asia – Mawlynnong

This study examines the unique role of local community–consumer/ customer engagement in influencing consumer/customer satisfaction (reflected in terms of economic activity) and future behavioural intention (reflected in terms of tourism development) in eco-tourism context in Mawlynnong village, Meghalaya,India, which has rightfully earned for itself the title of “Cleanest village in Asia.” The study builds on the contents and data from 35 in-depth researches on tourism (in the context of Mawlynnong) with the help of a content analysis (using NVivo 12) method and interaction with 8 local village families followed by structural equation modelling(SEM) analysis (using Adanco 2.0.2). The results show that factors such as cleanliness, local community– consumer/customer engagement, infrastructure, heritage and education enhance perceived trust among tourists, resulting in tourism development and enhanced economic activity by tourists. The participative service innovation behaviour (cleanliness) positively influences exploration intention(tourism) in this context. Furthermore, participative service innovation behaviour (in cleanliness) is found to mediate the relationship between its two driving factors, namely local community engagement and perceived trust in the service provider(tourism). The findings also provide various strategies tourism and hospitality firms and government tourism departments can use to prioritize factors and co-creating a replicable model of service innovation effectively using Mawlynnong example.

Three rhodium(I) complexes of the types [Rh(COE)Cl(η2-L)] (1a,1b) and [RhCl(η2-L) (η1-L)] (1c), where L = P~N donor ligands 2-[2-(diphenylphosphino) ethyl]pyridine, (PPh2Etpy) (a), 2-(diphenylphosphino)pyridine (PPh2py) (b), and 3-(diphenylphosphino)-1-propylamine (PPh2(CH2)3NH2) (c), have been synthesized by reacting [Rh(coe)2Cl]2 with the respective ligands in 1:2 molar ratio for 1a, 1b and 1:4 molar ratio for 1c in DCM under refluxing condition. The complexes were characterized using different analytical techniques such as FT-IR, ESI(+) mass spectrometry,1H and 31P{ 1H} NMR spectrometry, conductivity measurements, and melting point determination. The synthesized complexes were found to exhibit good catalytic activity for the transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds to corresponding alcohols with high conversion rate.

<P>A facile and simple methodology was adopted for the trapping of highly crystalline AgCl and Ag/AgCl nanoparticles (NPs) into the interlayer spacings of vanadium oxides (VOx). Self-organization of AgCl and Ag/AgCl-NPs on VOxwas found to be governed by the nature of the dicarboxylic acids used during the synthesis of the nanocomposites. A “fractal-like” morphology of the AgCl@VOxnanocomposite was achieved in the presence of<I>cis</I>-1,2 cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid. Heating of the AgCl@VOxnanocomposite above 68 °C resulted in the growth of polydispersed and ultrafine (3-4 nm) Ag/AgCl-NPs and its self-organization into monolayer formation on a partly crystalline VOxmatrix. Change in the conformation of the dicarboxylic acid to the<I>trans</I>-isomer resulted in the formation of a ‘rod-like’ structure of Ag/AgCl-NPs on a highly crystalline VOxmatrix. The band gaps of the nanocomposites were within the range of 1.8 to 2.9 eV. Because of such a low band gap, the synthesized nanocomposites were found to be highly active toward the photooxidation of methylene (MB) and methyl orange (MO) under sunlight.</P>
Effect of Thidiazuron (TDZ) on In vitro Regeneration of Blackgram (Vigna mungo L.) Embryonic Axes

Regeneration has been achieved in blackgram (Vigna mungo) using thidiazuron (TDZ) in the culture medium. The explanted cotyledon with wounded embryonic axes produced the highest number (9.75-10.45) of healthy, elongated shoots when cultured on shoot bud regeneration medium (SRI) composed of 2 ${\mu}M$ BAP, 2 ${\mu}M$ KIN, 2 ${\mu}M$ TDZ, and 0.5 ${\mu}M$ NAA followed by multiple shoot regeneration (SRII) medium containing 2 ${\mu}M$ BAP, 2 ${\mu}M$ KIN, and multiple shoot elongation (SE) medium (0.5 ${\mu}M$ of BAP + 0.5 ${\mu}M$ of KIN). The presence of TDZ in combination with BAP and NAA in the SRI medium for one sub-culture cycle (10 - 14 days) significantly increases formation of multiple shoot buds per explant. Independent, healthy shoots obtained were selected for both in vitro rooting and grafting. Establishment of plantlets in the soil was highest (80 - 100%) in the case of in vitro rooted compared to grafted shoots (40%). The protocol appears to be competent to Agrobacterium-meditated transformation with 'gus' as a reporter gene. PCR analysis of the $T_0$ and $T_1$ progenies showed the presence and transmission of the transgene. We document here the regeneration and transformation of blackgram using cotyledons with wounded embryonic axes and the protocol appears to be suitable for genetic transformation of blackgram.

Infection of the uterine cervix by human papilloma viruses (HPV) may be associated with cervical pre-cancer and invasive cervical carcinoma if left untreated. With advance in molecular techniques, it has become easier to detect the resence of HPV DNA long before the appearance of any lesion. This study concerned cervical scrape samples of 310 married non-pregnant women attending a gynecology outpatient department for both Pap and PCR testing to detect HPV DNA. Nested PCR using primers for L1 consensus gene with My9/My11 and GP6+/GP5+followed by multiplex PCR were carried out to detect HPV 16 and HPV18. Result: HPV prevalence was 11.9% out of which 3.67% cases of negative for intra-epithelial lesion or malignancy (NILM) and in 71.1% (27/38) of atypical cervical smears were HPV positive. There was increasing trend of high-risk-HPV positivity (HR HPV 16 and 18), from 20% in benign cytology (NILM) to 42.9 % in LSIL, 71.41% in HSIL and 100% in SCC. There was highly significant association of HPV infection with cervical lesion ($x^2=144.0$, p<0.01) and also with type specific HPV prevalence ($x^2=7.761^*$, p<0.05).
