The mechanical clock was designed and produced by students as a trial theme of PBL class. The limit of making time is three weeks and main material is limited to paper. Only a basic mechanism drawing is given. As the principle of mechanical clock is not complex and does not need the special knowledge of mechanical engineering, even lower grade student seems to understand enough. This subject can train the skill of knowledge composition, creativity and the problem-solving ability. After execution,the validity and performance as the theme of PBL class was evaluated. As a result, the following findings were obtained. The paper made mechanical clock could be produced in three weeks. And, by additional improvements of the product, the enough strength and stable movement were achieved. Students can learn that many kinds of knowledge through actual experiences of design and making were required in manufacturing the real products. The proposed PBL style class is suitable as an introduction and training subject for lower grade student in department of engineering.

Recently, the tendency for young people losing interest in science has accelerated. This tendency is remarkable for not only Japan but also some countries of Asia. It is thought that this tendency was brought from the decrease of the chance to watch the actual manufacturing activities, and the decrease of the real experience which children makes something in their childhood. In order to bring up the capable engineers on such a social background, making a product practice which promotes the understanding of the application of theory for manufacturing products is important in addition to study by the text book. In this study, some practical work materials for the lower grades in the college were developed. Integration of the developed materials and the course of study becomes an effective teaching method of the of subjects on a special field. Arranging this practical work on the learning process makes a high effect of the integrated practical work on the curriculum.

Folded structure is widely applied in various engineering fields. Many of the Japanese folding fans in the Edo era (1603-1868) have been successfully blended with the processing technology of "natural materials" that is the origin of Japan's "Monodzukuri" (craftsmanship) and its application "artistic originality". The charm of a fan lies in the diversity of stereoscopic expression not born in plane representation. For example, the effects of folds, the expression of the front and back sides flowing from the front to the back by double-sided description, and the two-layer effect of raising the backside from the surface using the permeability of Japanese paper, the calculated depiction are also seen. Moreover, by handling the fan, it also produced an illusion effect which skillfully calculated the change due to movement of the viewpoint. Students experience the natural materials such as Japanese paper, bamboo and starch paste, which are the materials of paint and fan at the time, and processing method, and know the difference with the current one. This study is to verify the effectiveness of engineering education which gains experience by making concrete fans and to understand deeply this traditional technology with the artistry of a Japanese fan at the same time. And we can learn from the characteristics of the fan to Japan's history and culture.

The order of speciality of an ample invertible Sheaf L on a curve is the least integer m so that $L^{ m}$ is nonspecial. There is a reasonable upper bound of the order of speciality for a simple invertible sheaf in terms of its degree and projective dimension. We study the case where it reaches the upper bound. Moreover we for mulate Castelnuovo's genus bound involving the order of speciality.ality.

"The engineering education program for environmental intention and value creation" has been executed from 2008 to 2010 in Suzuka National College of Technology, which program was promoted as "Good Practice for Education" by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Japan. "Eco-car project" is one of these practical ecology/environment education programs. The project's members have been learning and researching the environmental managements by the process of design, manufacturing, and assembly of solar car, highly effective fuel consumption car (Eco-run car), electric vehicle and fuel-cell car. Also this project was supported by some professional experts of the local industries and community. The students learned the actual industrial technique, the engineering management and the structure of local industries by this project. In this paper, the environmental intention engineering design education with local industry collaboration is introduced.
