      • The Usage of Modern Information Technologies for Conducting Effective Monitoring of Quality in Higher Education

        Information technologies in higher education are the basis for solving the tasks set by monitoring the quality of higher education. The directions of aplying information technologies which are used the most nowadays have been listed. The issues that should be addressed by monitoring the quality of higher education with the use of information technology have been listed. The functional basis for building a monitoring system is the cyclical stages: Observation; Orientation; Decision; Action. The monitoring system's considered cyclicity ensures that the concept of independent functioning of the monitoring system's subsystems is implemented.. It also ensures real-time task execution and information availability for all levels of the system's hierarchy of vertical and horizontal links, with the ability to restrict access. The educational branch uses information and computer technologies to monitor research results, which are realized in: scientific, reference, and educational output; electronic resources; state standards of education; analytical materials; materials for state reports; expert inferences on current issues of education and science; normative legal documents; state and sectoral programs; conference recommendations; informational, bibliographic, abstract, review publications; digests. The quality of Ukrainian scientists' scientific work is measured using a variety of bibliographic markers. The most common is the citation index. In order to carry out high-quality systematization of information and computer monitoring technologies, the classification has been carried out on the basis of certain features: (processual support for implementation by publishing, distributing and using the results of research work). The advantages and disadvantages of using web-based resources and services as information technology tools have been discussed. A set of indicators disclosed in the article evaluates the effectiveness of any means or method of observation and control over the object of monitoring. The use of information technology for monitoring and evaluating higher education is feasible and widespread in Ukrainian education, and it encourages the adoption of e-learning. The functional elements that stand out in the information-analytical monitoring system have been disclosed.

        Современные учебники РКИ: опыт анализа

        The article represents the experience in the analysis of modern textbooks of Russian as a foreign language. We selected multiple analysis criteria to be taken into account in the choice of textbooks: the national focus, the use of translation, compliance the tutorial with the declared level. The article points out that modern educational system brings to the fore not create separate textbooks and workbooks, but creating teaching materials. The article classifies textbooks in accordance with the usage of translation and estimates translation as an effective additional mean of teaching. The usage of translation is regarded in compliance with the level of language. The effectiveness of translation usage in communicative language teaching is mentioned. It is also stated that for the students of South-Eastern Region the translation to native language is more preferable than the translation to mediator language. The textbooks for different kinds of students are regarded in the article: both for university students and for businessmen. It is also mentioned the possibility of using the same textbooks in verbal environment and without it but in case of lack of environment the teaching should be more nationally oriented. Teaching in mononational and polynational groups is also one of the points. It is also specially stated that modern foreign language teaching should be level – oriented specially in textbooks. The article points out that modern educational system brings to the fore not create separate textbooks and workbooks, but creating teaching materials. They have many aspects and many variants. The possibility of usage of paper video electronic bearers in modern teaching materials noticeably increases the effectiveness in forming of speech skills.

        Estimation of C-derived introgression into A. m. mellifera colonies in the Russian Urals using microsatellite genotyping

        Background Marker-assisted selection is well established in animal breeding method of selecting individuals with desirable traits in a breeding scheme based on DNA molecular marker patterns. Objective Genetic diversity and C-derived admixture into local purebred gene pool of A. m. mellifera colonies was assessed using polymorphism of nine microsatellite loci in order to provide further marker-assisted selection of desired honey bee colonies. Methods The genetic diversity and the level of C-derived introgression into A. m. mellifera colonies in the Shulgan-Tash Nature Reserve (Russia) was assessed based on nine microsatellite loci (ap243, 4a110, A24, A8, A43, A113, A88, Ap049, A28), which were analized using the fragment analysis of the PCR products in Applied Biosystems 3130 DNA Analyzer. Phylogenetic relationship of colonies was evaluated using Neighbor-Joining methods with Cavalli-Sforza and Edwards genetic distance using the PHYLIP 3.68. The model-based Bayesian clustering algorithm implemented in STRUCTURE 2.3.3 was employed to infer membership and introgression proportions (Q-value). Results In the Shulgan-Tash Nature Reserve colonies of A. m. mellifera subdivided into four groups by level of C-derived introgression. Only fve colonies of A. m. mellifera had C-derived introgression which varied from 0.5 to 2%. The genetic diversity in colonies of A. m. mellifera varied from 0.12 to 0.40. The Neighbor-Joining tree demonstrates the genetic relationship of A. m. mellifera colonies, which subdivided into three groups with diferent levels of C-derived introgression. Group 1 combined fve honey bee colonies Bort_1, Bort_2, Bort_3, Baisalyan_1, and Kush_7 with a fraction of introgression close to 0.000 and genetic diversity from 0.20 to 0.25. Conclusion The results showed the excellence of nine microsatellite loci genotyping in estimation of genetic diversity, distinguishing the two European evolutionary lineages M and C and estimating C-derived introgression. These genetic parameters can be applied further to perform the marker-assisted selection of purebred dark European honey bees.
