A multi-layered waterproofing membrane system with thermal reflection-insulation performance was developed and its insulation performance was evaluated experimentally. The thermal insulating performance of this system was obtained by the following measurement parameters in outdoor exposure test and artificial indoor test; the specimen size-effect, the difference of exposed concrete substrate and the types of waterproofing membrane. As a result, the temperature amplitude in testing chamber is lower than the traditional membrane system and this system had high thermal insulating performance in summer season or high temperature. Then, the thermal conduction performance of this system was measured by the artificial temperature cyclic test in order to evaluate its performance conveniently and its result showed good correlation with outdoor test result. Therefore, it is expected that the thermal insulation performance of various waterproofing membrane system can analyze by this simple test method and propose green roof effectively.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the salt damage resistance of waterproofing membrane in order to protect the mortar or concrete substrate. Polyurethane and acrylic coating membrane were used, and the salt water immersion test and the chloride ion concentration test were carried out experimentally. Also, the salt damage in mortar was analyzed by comparing with the permeability of each specimens. Waterproofing membrane have a high salt damage resistance more than only non-coated substrate, and prevented the penetration of chloride ion from non-crack to 0.3mm-crack specimens in 13 weeks-accelerating test. Finally, the membrane thickness for suppressing salt damage was estimated from viewpoint of its permeability.

An evaluation method for determining the wind resistance of mechanically anchored waterproofing membrane systems is proposed which uses a straightforward test method to assess wind resistance of the membrane. To obtain basic data for wind resistance design of a waterproofing membrane system, two testswere conducted: a pressure test on a flat roof of a building and a wind resistance test using a ring type specimen. Tests on the membrane anchored to the flat roof showed that, as might be expected, the force on the fastener section increased as the wind pressure became higher. The test method which uses the ring type specimen had good correlation with results derived from the pressure test conducted on the flat roof membrane based on the behaviour of the waterproofing membrane. This test specimen when tested for wind resistance was fractured at 56 % the strength achieved in the static test. Finally, a method for the design of fasteners based on a wind pressure induced fatigue model was proposed in order to apply the results in the construction of a flat roof mechanically anchored waterproofing membrane system.
실링 줄눈의 접착면적과 줄눈단면형태에 따른 내피로성 평가

For the purpose of improving water-tightness and durability of sealed joint, the cross-sectional shape of sealed joints to reduce the stress-concentration at the adhesive part of substrate were proposed, and their fatigue resistance was evaluated by fatigue testing machine. The parameters of test specimen were the cross-sectional shapes and the adhesion types of sealed joints. Also, before carrying out the tensile test and the joint movement cyclic test, the stress condition into the cross section of sealed joint was analyzed by finite element method. As a FEM results, the maximum principal compression of rectangle joint was higher than concave joints. Also, in tensile and fatigue test results, when occurring adhesion loss on the substrate, the fatigue resistance of sealed joint decreased extremely. However, when there is adhesion loss on the substrate, the sealed joint with concave cross-section had higher fatigue resistance than that of rectangle shape.
바탕모르타르 균열부의 탄산화에 미치는 표면마감재의 CO₂ 투과성능의 영향

The purpose of this study is to investigate the carbonation resistance of building coating materials applied to the mortar or concrete substrate including their cracked zone. The testing parameters for this experiment were the three crack widths in the substrate including non-crack, and two types of the coating materials. As results, the coating materials have good carbonation resistance against CO2 penetration into mortar substrate even in cracked zone of substrate. Furthermore, the carbonation resistance of coating material was calculated by using their CO2 permeability coefficient and discussed from viewpoint of durability design.
