Maqsud Basha 조선대학교 국제문화연구원 2014 국제문화연구 Vol.7 No.1
Ta'ef city represented the strategic depth for Quraish because of its great economical position. The prophet thought to migrate to Ta'ef to avoid the continuing offending from Quraish . This harm increased more after the death of his uncle Abo taleb who was the protector of the prophet and his Islamic mission. The choice of ta'ef was not by chance, but because it was the second biggest vital city in the Arababian penisula after Mecca, inaddition that was populated by Thaqif tribe, one of the most powerful tribes who supported the Islamic Mission. The prophet's situation of security was too dangerous to decide to prepare Ta'ef journey at the time he was forbidden to travel outside Mecca. He went to Ta'ef with Zayd ibn Haretha only to avoid drawing attention. On the outskirts of Ta'ef he decided to go to the leaders of the city to ask for protection from the leaders of Quraish, the leaders of Ta'ef controls the loyalty of two tribes Bani Malik and Bani Amro. But the leaders of both tribes did not respond for the prophet's protection request, so he stayed in Ta'ef for ten days to invite the people to Islam but he only found rejection. They didn't only reject his cause but they sent their slaves and fools who lined up in two raws and when he passes through them they laughed at him and threw stones at him until he was wounded in his honorable feet and bleeds till his slippers was bloody red. Zayd ibn Haretha was working hard to get the stones in his body to prevent the stones from reaching the prophet. The young followed them throwing stones along the way to Mecca until they reched a garden for Otba and Shayba ibn Rabea, the prophet sat down under a tree and started to pray for god with a very sad heart. Although this severe suffering, the prophet was never despaired and started to think about migrating to another place to invite people to Islam without fear.
