The Global Publication Output in Augmented Reality Research: A Scientometric Assessment for 1992-2019

        B. M. Gupta,S. M. Dhawan 건국대학교 지식콘텐츠연구소 2020 International Journal of Knowledge Content Develop Vol.10 No.2

This paper describes global research in the field of augmented reality (22078) as indexed in Scopus database during 1992-2019, using a series of bibliometric indicators. The augmented reality (AR) research registered high 54.23% growth, averaged citation impact of 8.90 citations per paper. Nearly 1% of global output in the subject (226 papers) registered high-end citations (100+) per paper. The top 15 countries accounted for 87.05% of global publications output in the subject. The USA is in leadership position for its highest publications productivity (19.25% global share). The U.K. leads the world on relative citation index (2.05). International collaboration has been a major driver of AR research pursuits; between 11.89% and 44.04% of national share of top 15 countries in AR research appeared as international collaborative publications. AR research productivity by application types was the largest across sectors, such as education, industry and medical. Computer science has emerged as the most popular areas in AR research pursuits. Technical University of Munich, Germany and Osaka University, Japan have been the most productive organizations and Nara Institute of S&T, Japan (66.55 and 7.48) and Imperial College, London, U.K. (57.14 and 6.42) have been the most impactful organizations. M. Billinghurst and N. Navab have been the most productive authors and S. Feiner and B. MacIntyre have been the most impactful authors. IEEE Transactions on Visualization & Computer Graphics, Multimedia Tools & Applications and Virtual Reality topped the list of most productive journals.

Size dependent structural and magnetic behaviour of CaFe2O4

        Arvind Samariya,S.N. Dolia,Arun S. Prasad,P.K. Sharma,S.P. Pareek,M.S. Dhawan,Sudhish Kumar 한국물리학회 2013 Current Applied Physics Vol.13 No.5

CaFe2O4 nanocrystalline powders were synthesized through solegel treatment in which the stoichiometric mixing of various nitrates involving calcium and iron in presence of citric acid was performed. Subsequently, the as prepared sample was annealed at various temperatures in order to obtain the fine distribution of size including the bulk counterpart. The samples were then characterized using powder X-ray diffraction followed by 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy, SQUID as well as vibrating sample magnetometry. The results of spectroanalyses revealed that the samples were formed in single phase cubic spinel structure and exhibits room temperature superparamagnetism, except the bulk one, which crystallizes in characteristic orthorhombic structure of CaFe2O4 and displays trivial coercivity and remanent magnetization at room temperature.

Quantum Machine Learning: A Scientometric Assessment of Global Publications during 1999-2020

        S. M. Dhawan,B. M. Gupta,Ghouse Modin N. Mamdapur 건국대학교 지식콘텐츠연구소 2021 International Journal of Knowledge Content Develop Vol.11 No.3

The study provides a quantitative and qualitative description of global research in the domain of quantum machine learning (QML) as a way to understand the status of global research in the subject at the global, national, institutional, and individual author level. The data for the study was sourced from the Scopus database for the period 1999-2020. The study analyzed global research output (1374 publications) and global citations (22434 citations) to measure research productivity and performance on metrics. In addition, the study carried out bibliometric mapping of the literature to visually represent network relationship between key countries, institutions, authors, and significant keyword in QML research. The study finds that the USA and China lead the world ranking in QML research, accounting for 32.46% and 22.56% share respectively in the global output. The top 25 global organizations and authors lead with 35.52% and 16.59% global share respectively. The study also tracks key research areas, key global players, most significant keywords, and most productive source journals. The study observes that QML research is gradually emerging as an interdisciplinary area of research in computer science, but the body of its literature that has appeared so far is very small and insignificant even though 22 years have passed since the appearance of its first publication. Certainly, QML as a research subject at present is at a nascent stage of its development.

Indian Research on Artificial Neural Networks: A Bibliometric Assessment of Publications Output during 1999-2018

        B. M. Gupta,S. M. Dhawan 건국대학교 지식콘텐츠연구소 2020 International Journal of Knowledge Content Develop Vol.10 No.4

The paper describes the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of artificial neural networks (ANN) in India in the global context. The study is based on research publications data (8260) as covered in the Scopus database during 1999-2018. ANN research in India registered 24.52% growth, averaged 11.95 citations per paper, and contributed 9.77% share to the global ANN research. ANN research is skewed as the top 10 countries account for 75.15% of global output. India ranks as the third most productive country in the world. The distribution of research by type of ANN networks reveals that Feed Forward Neural Network type accounted for the highest share (10.18% share), followed by Adaptive Weight Neural Network (5.38% share), Feed Backward Neural Network (2.54% share), etc. ANN research applications across subjects were the largest in medical science and environmental science (11.82% and 10.84% share respectively), followed by materials science, energy, chemical engineering and water resources (from 6.36% to 9.12%), etc. The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee lead the country as the most productive organizations (with 289 and 264 papers). Besides, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (33.04 and 2.76) and Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (24.26 and 2.03) lead the country as the most impactful organizations in terms of citation per paper and relative citation index. P. Samui and T.N. Singh have been the most productive authors and G.P.S.Raghava (86.21 and 7.21) and K.P. Sudheer (84.88 and 7.1) have been the most impactful authors. Neurocomputing, International Journal of Applied Engineering Research and Applied Soft Computing topped the list of most productive journals.
