이 연구는 University of Mysore의 과학기술 분야 연구자들이 수행한 연구성과의 성장과 기여, 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 또한 이 대학 소속 과학자들의 커뮤니케이션 패턴을 분석하고 서로 다른 저널에 발표된 연구성과의 집중 및 분산 정도를 조사한다. 평균인용도의 측면에서 이 대학이 강점과 약점을 가지고 있는 연구영역, 성장률과 영향, 학과별 연구동향에 대해 분석하였으며, 전반적인 수준과 주제분야별, 국가별로 연구성과의 국제적 협력에 대해 조사한다. 인용빈도가 높은 논문과 생산성이 높은 저자의 특성에 대해서도 분석하였다. This study describes the growth, contribution and impact of research carried out by University of Mysore scientists in science and technology. It indicates the patterns of communications of university scientists and studies the extent of concentration and scattering of their research output in different journals. It also analyses the strong and weak areas of university research, their growth rate and impact in terms of average citations received. It also studies the output and impact of research under different existing subject departments of the university and analyses the international collaborative share of research output at the overall level as well as across various subjects, indicating also the major countries involved in international collaboration. It describes the share and characteristics of select high cited papers and the top productive authors.

A Survey Study of the Social Networking Sites Used By Libraries and Their Rankings

A survey was conducted to determine the level of awareness of library professionals working in engineering and technological institution libraries in Karnataka regarding web technology and social media sites in particular. The researcher designed a structured questionnaire using Google Forms and sent it to 204 engineering colleges affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. There is a reasonable amount of awareness and acquaintance with social media sites among working library professionals. Analysis and interpretation are performed with the standard statistical tool (SPSS). The result of this study could provide library professionals with useful insights on how to use social media sites to promote library services.

Background: To determine the phytochemical constituents, antioxidant, and anticancer activities of Leea indica leaf extracts on DU-145 and PC-3 human prostate cancer cell lines. Methods: Leaf sample was subjected to Soxhlet extraction method with increasing polarity of solvents, namely, chloroform, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, and aqueous. Phytochemical screening was done using different biochemical tests. Quantitative analysis for phenol was determined by Folin–Ciocalteu reagent method. The antioxidant activity was tested using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, ferric ion reducing power assay, and phosphomolybdenum assay. In vitro anticancer activity on DU-145 and PC-3 human prostate cancer cell lines was evaluated by (3-(4, 5-dimethyl thiazole-2yl)-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) MTT assay. Results: Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of phyto-constituents like alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, phenols, lignins, saponins, sterols, tannins, anthraquinone, and reducing sugar. Methanol and ethanol extracts exhibited higher phenolic content as compare to aqueous extract. Antioxidant capacities were shown highest in methanol and ethanol extracts based on the test performed. The methanol and ethanol leaf extracts were found to be selectively cytotoxic in vitro to (DU-145 and PC-3) prostate cancer cell lines with IC50 values 529.44 ± 42.07 μg/mL and 677.11 ± 37.01 μg/mL for DU-145 and 547.55 ± 33.52 μg/mL and 631.99 ± 50.24 μg/mL for PC-3 respectively, while it had no cytotoxic effect on normal mice embryo fibroblast cells. Conclusion: The results indicate that Leea indica was a promising antioxidant and anticancer agent for DU-145 and PC-3 human prostate cancer cell lines. However, further studies are needed to conclude its therapeutic use.

In the present paper 5-[40-({4-[(4-aryloxy)methyl]-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl}methyl)[1,10-biphenyl]-2-yl]-1H-tetrazoles(5a–g) and [20 -(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)[1,10-biphenyl]-4-yl]methyl-substituted-1-carbodithioates (11h–q) havebeen designed and synthesized. These compounds weresubjected to docking (against AT1 receptor proteinenzyme in complex with Lisinopril), in vitro angiotensinconverting enzyme inhibition, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatoryscreening (through egg albumin denaturationinhibition and red blood cell membrane stabilizationassay) and finally anti-fungal activity analyses. Some ofthe compounds have shown significant pharmacologicalproperties.
