        Present removal work for road signs has been required many workers and times because it has been worked by a manually controlled shaving equipment. While these manual works are progressing, there are unwillingly traffic jam by passing control, and unexpected accidents to all workers exposed dangerous road circumstance. Besides, in current shaving method, there are high potentialities on air pollution as well as explosive accidents occurred by using propane gas. However there have been little efforts to improve technical impediments and to develop a new method or equipment related to the road sign erasing works in domestic construction industry. The purpose of this study is to investigate the road sign erasing work processes of the existing in detail and to analyze the required performance criteria for the automated equipment development.

        Development and Verification of Technical Criteria for a U-Bridge

        With the recent acceleration in the adoption of IT in industries, converged Construction-IT has been drawing attention as a new market driver in the IT fusion industry. Despite the simultaneous implementation of U-Cities all over Korea in a manner suiting each city's own attributes, Technical Criteria to build an optimized IT-infrastructure have not yet been prepared. To solve this problem, a standard for U-City construction should be prepared. This research, therefore, draw sample contents in order to establish and verify the criteria for U-City construction. The findings are expected to be meaningful, in that they would serve as significant data for establishing the criteria for future U-City construction.

        Development of a Musculoskeletal Load Measuring Device for Construction Workers Based on Accelerometers and Gyro Sensors

        The characteristics of construction work cause excessive strain on specific body parts of the construction craft workers. However, there are few tools to mane an accurate measurement of the load on the musculoskeletal system, and the musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) experienced by the workers have not been properly understood. So, there is an urgent need for development of a tool to measure the load on the musculoskeletal system. Therefore, this research aims to develop a musculoskeletal load measuring device for construction workers. In order to eliminate the noise and errors, an accelerometer, gyro sensors and the Kalman Filter are used in the device developed in this research.

        저소음·분진회수형 도로포장절단기 개발

        본 연구에서는 도로 포장 절단작업에서 유발되는 소음과 절단슬러지 등의 환경오염을 예방하고자, 저소음·분진회수형 도로절단기를 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 진공 팬, 진공 탱크, 슬러지 펌프 등의 절단슬러지 회수시스템을 위한 주요 구성품을 도출하고, 각각의 구성품을 설계·제작하였다. 그리고 도로절단기와 슬러지 회수 시스템을 통합하고, 통합된 저소음·분진회수형 도로절단기를 테스트 베드에 적용하였다. 적용 결과, 개발된 장비로 절단 깊이 150㎜~300㎜를 절단하는 데에 큰 무리가 없었다. 또한 절단 깊이 150㎜로 안정적으로 절단 작업할 때, 절단 길이 1m 당 약 25초에서 35초가 소요되어 생산성도 기존장비와 유사할 것으로 예상되었다. 그리고 육안 검사 결과, 대부분의 슬러지가 잘 회수되어 잔존슬러지가 거의 없었고, Ø4mm 이상 입도의 돌가루는 진공 탱크에서 잘 분리되었다. 다만 개발된 장치는 프로토타입으로 안정성이 다소 낮다는 한계가 있었다. 따라서 향후에 튜닝 등을 통해 안정성이 향상되어야 한다. 또한 기존 저소음 도로절단기 등과 절단 성능 등 정량적인 성능 비교 분석도 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각된다. This study developed a low-noise and dust recovering pavement cutter to prevent environmental pollution such as cutting noise and sludge. Various components such as a vacuum fan, a vacuum tank, and a sludge pump for recovering cutting sludge were derived, designed, and manufactured towards developing the proposed pavement cutter. Following the design and development, the cutter and the sludge recovery system were integrated, and this assembly was applied to the test bed for further tests. The test results suggest that there was no difficulty in cutting a depth of 150 mm to 300 mm with the new pavement cutter. In addition, while working stably and cutting a depth of 150 mm, the new pavement cutter took about 25 to 35 seconds to cut per 1 m of length. So, the productivity of the new pavement cutter is expected to be similar to that of the existing equipment. Moreover, through visual inspection, it was confirmed that most of the sludge was well recovered, and the stone fragments with a particle size of Ø4mm or more were well separated in the vacuum tank. However, the developed device was less stable as a prototype. Therefore, the stability of the newly proposed pavement cutter has to be improved through tuning of the processes and components in the future. In addition, quantitative performance evaluations such as the comparison of the cutting performance of the new pavement cutter with the existing equipment should also be conducted.

        유리창 청소장치의 개념 디자인 및 경제적 타당성 예측

        The window cleaning works are manpower-dependent and are performed in an unstable posture at high altitude, so that there is a risk of falling. Therefore, there is an urgent need to improve the safety of workers. In this study, a conceptual design was proposed for the cleaning of exterior windows of a building, and the economic feasibility of the proposed conceptual model was analyzed. The proposed model is designed to avoid protrusions such as window frames, and to be able to respond even if the shapes of the upper and lower parts are different. As a result of analyzing the economic feasibility of the designed conceptual model, the benefit cost ratio was 4.48, which was significantly higher than 1. Therefore, the economic feasibility of the proposed window cleaning device is expected to be sufficient. The results analyzed in this paper will be used in the development and marketing of the window cleaning device.

      • 자율이동체 기반의 도심지 건설현장 미세먼지 측정 및 대응방안

        In Korea, fine dust (PM10) less than 10um in diameter and ultrafine particles (PM2.5) less than 2.5um in diameter have recently become a pressing issue. These fine dust and ultrafine dust have been designated by the WHO as first-class carcinogens. As fine dust is a harmful substance, it must be managed carefully and correctly. However, once the dust is generated and spreads in the air, it is difficult to clear it out; therefore, it is important to manage the dust at the point of time of its generation. Yet a large amount of fine dust is generated at construction sites, not only in certain types of construction works such as excavation or blasting but also in the engines of the machines used in construction. Therefore, in attempting to control the fine dust problem, it is helpful to manage fine dust at construction sites. Based on this premise, this study proposed a concept for a measurement and suppression method for fine dust using cutting-edge technologies such as autonomous moving bodies, Internet of Things (IoT) and Dry Fog System(DSF). The concept proposed in this study will be verified through system development and field application, and the economic feasibility will also be evaluated through a cost analysis.

        Recently, road cutting works are frequently performed to repair aging underground utilities. However, the conventional road pavement cutting equipment in Korea generates a lot of noise and dust, and the development of high performance and eco-friendly equipment is required. This study classifies road cutting work and analyzes its work characteristics before improving road cutting machine. The classification and analysis results of this study will be used for the future productivity analysis and evaluation of road cutter developed.

        생애주기비용 분석을 통한 유닛모듈러 공법의 경제성 평가

        There are two essential management objectives in the construction industry: improvement of construction speed and reduction of materials used. A representative attempt to achieve these objectives, method of unit modular construction has been actively applied in many developed countries, including Japan. The unit modular technology is a method by which a house is assembled and completed on the site based on housing modules that are manufactured in a factory. Korea, a relative newcomer to this field, has secured design and construction technologies of a structure equivalent to a detached house, and is pursuing the research and development of the design and construction technologies in order to expand its horizons. The major objective of this study is to propose an economic feasibility forecasting model and to apply the model for method of unit modular construction which is now under development. This study concludes that compare to the traditional method, the method of unit modular construction is recommended from the life-cycle cost viewpoints.
