Inject ion-molded Bamboo/PBS 복합재료의 섬유길이에 따른 기계적 특성

In this paper we studied the effects of fiber length on mechanical properties of injection-molded bamboo/PBS composites. We carried out tensile test and Izod tests for evaluating the mechanical properties of bamboo/PBS composites. The fiber length of the composites consisted of the range from -75㎛, +75㎛ to -180㎛, +180㎛ to -250㎛, and +250㎛ to -500㎛. Also we examined fracture surface of the bamboo/PBS composites by SEM. The results of evaluated tensile strength of the composites with bamboo fiber ranging from +75㎛ to -180㎛ and from +180㎛ to -250㎛ were higher than those ranging from -75㎛ and from +250㎛ to -500㎛. Izod impact strength of the bamboo/PBS composites decreased in the case of the composites with shorter fiber length. In particular, the shortest fiber length in range of -75㎛, we observed sharply dropped strength. The fracture surface of the bamboo/PBS composites showed the formation of pull-out fibers.

Natural fibers such as hemp, bamboo, jute and kenaf have received considerable attention as an environmentally friendly alternative to the use of glass fibers in polymer composites. Bamboo fiber has relatively high strength compared with other natural fibers. The injection-molding is a highly productive fabrication technique. Therefore, the focus of this study was to produce bamboo fiber reinforced polylactic acid polybutylene succinate(PBS) composites by injection-molded and evaluate their mechanical properties. We carried out tensile test, Izod tests and Vickers hardness test for evaluating the mechanical properties of bamboo/PBS composites. The bamboo fiber as a filler was divided into four particle sizes, namely -75 ㎛, +75 ㎛ to -180 ㎛, + 180 ㎛ to -250 ㎛, and +250 ㎛ to -500 ㎛ by sieves with different apertures. Also we examined fracture surface of the bamboo/PBS composites by SEM.

This paper deals with the mechanical properties of Bamboo/PBS composite by Injection-molded method. Recently, using environmental-friendly materials which used bamboo has increased such as laptop, car, toys and so on. The bamboo fiber is recognized as one of the most interesting natural fibers because it has relatively high strength more than other natural fibers. Thus we focused on in this paper, to produce bamboo fiber reinforced Poly butylene succinate (PBS) composites by injection molding and to evaluate the effect of additive on mechanical properties of bamboo/PBS composites. The injection-molding is a highly productive fabrication technique. We carried out tensile test and Vickers hardness for evaluating the mechanical properties of bamboo/PBS composites. The fracture surfaces of bamboo/PBS composites were examined by SEM.
