Soysauce that has a long history, is a traditional food in the Orient area, and is supporesed the region of origination was northern of Korean peninsula or southern of Manchuria. After ward, it is convinced that spreaded to China continent, Korean peninsula md Japan. I have published a book named "Jang it′s History Culture and Industry" in 1999. in which illustrated the history of soysauce, but I cannot explain the details of history of Japanese soysauce because of deficiency of the data, so I hope a complement. Let me report a translation of KAWATA′s study, in here
Development of High Performance Valve Seat Insert Materials for Gas Engines

Sintered materials have been applied widely in Valve Seat Inserts (VSI). The amount of wear on VSIs increases when used in gas (LPG, CNG) engines because of their dry environments. In this paper, two newly developed high performance VSI materials for gas engines are introduced. These materials applied new techniques, which are both high performance hard particle and new distribution method of solid lubricant, to increase wear resistance.
Fiber Optics for Multilayered Optical Memory

We have developed a compact and high-power mode-locked fiber laser for multilayered optical memory. Fiber lasers have the potential to be compact and stable light sources that can replace bulk solid-state lasers. To generate high-power pulses, we used stretched-pulse mode locking. The average power and pulse width of the output pulse from the fiber laser that we developed were 109 mW and 2.1 ps, respectively. The dispersion of the output pulse was compensated with an external single-mode fiber of 2.5 m length. The pulse was compressed from 2.1 ps to 93 fs by dispersion compensation. The fiber laser we have developed is possible to use as a light source of multilayered optical memory. We also present a fiber confocal microscope as an alignment-free readout system of multilayered optical memories. The fiber confocal microscope does not require fine pinhole position alignment because the fiber core is used as the point light source and the pinhole, and both of which are always located at the conjugated point. The configuration reduces the required accuracy of pinhole position alignment. With these techniques we can present an all-fiber recording and readout system for multilayered memories.
THE IMPACT OF FUEL CYCLE OPTIONS ON THE SPACE REQUIREMENTS OF A HLW REPOSITORY

Because of increasing concerns regarding global warming and the longevity of oil and gas reserves, the importance of nuclear energy as a major source of sustainable energy is gaining recognition worldwide. To make nuclear energy truly sustainable, it is necessary to ensure not only the sustainability of the fuel supply but also the sustained availability of waste repositories, especially those for high-level radioactive waste (HLW). From this perspective, the effort to maximize the waste loading density in a given repository is important for easing repository capacity problems. In most cases, the loading of a repository is controlled by the decay heat of the emplaced waste. In this paper, a comparison of the decay heat characteristics of HLW is made among the various fuel cycle options. It is suggested that, for a future fast breeder reactor (FBR) cycle, the removal and burning of minor actinides (MA) would significantly reduce the heat load in waste and would allow for a reduction of repository size by half.
Valve Seat Insert Material with Good Machinability

Sintered materials have been applied widely in Valve Seat Inserts (VSI). The demands for VSIs are not only good heat and wear resistance but also good machinability. The sintered materials, which are made of a mixture of manganese containing iron powder and certain types of sulfide powder, have superior machinability due to precipitation of the fine MnS particles in the matrix. This report introduces a new VSI material, which has both superior machinability, and wear resistance due to applies of this "MnS precipitation" technique.
Life Cycle Analysis of Lumber Drying System with the Application of Microwave Dielectric Heat

Demand of artificial seasoning lumber is increasing in the building market because of its high production efficiency. Hybrid seasoning which combines a steam drying process with a microwave dielectric process is one of the useful methods to reduce $CO_2$ emission as well as to improve material quality. The study aims to analyze the effect of $CO_2$ reduction and economic efficiency on the hybrid seasoning in comparison with the conventional steam drying process. Life cycle analysis is used to investigate the direct and indirect $CO_2$ emissions during a life period of production facilities related to the hybrid drying system. The indirect $CO_2$ emission is estimated by the method of input-output analysis. From the analysis it is concluded that the hybrid drying system is able to reduce 0.215 million ton and to improve 6.50 billion yen if the market share of the hybrid drying system would be increased up to 25.9.
Estimation of Aerosol Optical Thickness from Satellite Image Data

The meteorological ranges were estimated from two Landsat TM data sets measured under different atmospheric haze conditions, with an aid of the atmospheric correction algorithm. We found that an agreement between the measured and estimated meteorological ranges for a clear day is satisfactory and that for a hazy day is acceptable.
THE ANALYSIS OF ADEOS/POLDER DATA

We have made the cross calibration in terms of space reflectance between POLDER and OCTS sensors on board ADEOS satellite, using the POLDER and OCTS data acquired simultaneously on April 24, 1997. The space reflectance values for the same target computed from the POLDER and OCTS data are in very good agreement, when we adopted the new calibration coefficients of OCTS suggested by the vicarious experiment by NASDA. Then, we estimated aerosol parameters for several target areas (two areas in the Sea of Japan and three in the Pacific Ocean) from ADEOS/POLDER's directional reflectance and polarization data in 760nm and 865nm bands. A single atmospheric layer model with an isotropic Gaussian type ocean surface (Cox-Munk model) was assumed in this study.

We proposed a new retrieval method far aerosol's real part of refractive index, optical thickness, and Angstrom exponent, using POLDPR's directional reflectance and polarization data. We showed that aerosol's real part of refractive index can be retrieved systematically using multi-directional P-R(polarization and reflectance) diagrams in a single infrared band by our algorithm far the first time. We examined, the retrieves results, by comparing with the simultaneously measured sky observation data at the study site and we obtained a reasonable agreement between them.
