Polymer ferroelectric-gate field effect transistors (Fe-FETs) employing ferroelectric polymer thin films as gate insulators are highly attractive as a next-generation non-volatile memory. For minimizing gate leakage current of a device which arises from electrically defective ferroelectric polymer layer in particular at low operation voltage, the materials design of interlayers between the ferroelectric insulator and gate electrode is essential. Here, we introduce a new solution-processed interlayer of conductive reduced graphene oxides (rGOs) modified with a conjugated block copolymer, poly(styrene-block-paraphenylene) (PS-b-PPP). A FeFET with a solution-processed p-type oligomeric semiconducting channel and ferroelectric poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene) (PVDF-TrFE) insulator exhibited characteristic source-drain current hysteresis arising from ferroelectric polarization switching of a PVDF-TrFE insulator. Our PS-b-PPP modified rGOs (PMrGOs) with conductive moieties embedded in insulating polymer matrix not only significantly reduced the gate leakage current but also efficiently lowered operation voltage of the device. In consequence, the device showed large memory gate voltage window and high ON/OFF source-drain current ratio with excellent data retention and read/write cycle endurance. Furthermore, our PMrGOs interlayers were successfully employed to FeFETs fabricated on mechanically flexible substrates with promising non-volatile memory performance under repetitive bending deformation.
Evaluation of soluble sugar content in soybean mutant lines derived from gamma-irradiation

Soluble sugar content in soybean seed is an important quality attribute for soyfood and feed. Usually, soluble sugars comprise 6 to 17% of total dry wt. in mature soybean seeds. In this study, 414 soybean mutant lines induced by gamma-ray were screened by colormetric assay, FACE (Fluorophore-assisted carbohydrate electrophoresis), and GC-MS to identify the change of soluble sugar contents. Among 414 soybean mutant lines, 12 mutant lines derived from three different soybean cultivars (Hwanggum, Paldal, and Bangsa) showed higher level of soluble sugar content compared to their original cultivars. However, 5 mutant lines derived from soybean landrace KAS 636-15 showed lower level in the colormetric assay. In FACE, 17 soybean mutant lines selected by colormetric assay also showed different band intensity compared with their original cultivars. However, there were no different soluble sugar patterns between soybean original cultivars and mutant lines. Finally, the variations of soluble sugar content in 17 soybean mutant lines were confirmed by using GC-MS. These mutant lines will be used for genetic study to find mutations of genes related soluble sugar biosynthesis.

Field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are getting more attention in safety-related and safety-criticalapplication development of nuclear power plant instrumentation and control systems. The high logicdensity and advancements in architectural features make static random access memory (SRAM)-basedFPGAs suitable for complex design implementations. Devices deployed in the nuclear environmentface radiation particle strike that causes transient and permanent failures. The major reasons for failuresare total ionization dose effects, displacement damage dose effects, and single event effects. Differentfrom the case of space applications, soft errors are the major concern in terrestrial applications. In thisarticle, a review of radiation effects on FPGAs is presented, especially soft errors in SRAM-based FPGAs. Single event upset (SEU) shows a high probability of error in the dependable application development inFPGAs. This survey covers the main sources of radiation and its effects on FPGAs, with emphasis on SEUsas well as on the measurement of radiation upset sensitivity and irradiation experimental results atvarious facilities. This article also presents a comparison between the major SEU mitigation techniques inthe configuration memory and user logics of SRAM-based FPGAs.

Hellenia speciosa (J. Koenig) S. R. Dutta (Syn: Costus speciosus (J. Koenig) Sm.) is well known for its anti-diabetic proper- ties and is in high demand for its steroidal sapogenin, diosgenin, which is used in the pharmaceutical industry for manufac- turing steroidal drugs. The increasing demand for this plant has led to the depletion of its wild population. This study was conducted to reveal the genetic diversity of H. speciosa collected from various agro-ecological regions of India for use in devising conservational strategies, and cultivation and breeding programs. Twenty inter-simple sequence repeat markers yielded 304 products with 100% polymorphism demonstrating high genetic diversity. Nei′s gene diversity and Shannon information indexes were estimated among the populations as 0.19 ± 0.23 and 0.28 ± 0.25, respectively. High genetic dif- ferentiation ( GST = 0.40) and low gene fl ow ( Nm = 0.74) were observed, which corroborated with the analysis of molecular variance revealing maximum (86.75%) variance within populations. The unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean analysis grouped all accessions into three major clusters. Principal component analysis showed that the fi rst three compo- nents accounted for 30.66%, 4.54%, and 3.98% variation, respectively, and Bayesian clustering through structure showed the presence of two genetic population (K = 2). This study revealed high genetic diversity among the populations collected from high altitude compared to those from the plain. A positive but low correlation among genetic and geographic distances was obtained ( r = 0.282, p < 0.0001). Identifi cation of genetic diversity and intra population variation of a species are prime factors to take defi ned conservation strategies.
