        Dual‑module VSG control strategy under unbalanced voltage conditions

        The virtual synchronous generator (VSG), as a grid-connected technology, has gain more and more attention because of its unique merits including its ability to reshape inertia and damping. These merits enable renewable energy to be smoothly integrated into the grid. Unbalance between three-phase voltage in the steady state is a common phenomenon in the grid, which distorts the output current of the VSG. However, on many occasions, inserting symmetrical current into the grid is necessary. To solve this problem, a dual-module VSG control strategy is proposed in this paper. Through this strategy, the positive and negative sequence output powers of the VSG can be correctly identifi ed and separately controlled. Then the output current can be kept symmetrical by controlling the negative sequence output power of the VSG to be zero. Finally, the proposed strategy is verified by simulation and experimental results.

        Structural and component characterization of the B4C neutron conversion layer deposited by magnetron sputtering

        Neutron conversion detectors that use 10B-enriched boron carbide are feasible alternatives to 3 He-based detectors. We prepared boron carbide films at micron-scale thickness using direct-current magnetron sputtering. The structural characteristics of natural B4C films, including density, roughness, crystallization, and purity, were analyzed using grazing incidence X-ray reflectivity, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry, and scanning electron microscopy. A beam profile test was conducted to verify the practicality of the 10B-enriched B4C neutron conversion layer. A clear profile indicated the high quality of the neutron conversion of the boron carbide layer.

      • New Calibration Method of Two-Dimensional Laser Scanner and Camera Based on LM-BP Neural Network

        The calibration between a camera and a two-dimensional laser scanner (2DLS) is an essential step in the object detecting system. Many algorithms with linear model have been proposed. But these tend to solve intrinsic and extrinsic calibration parameters separately and are influenced seriously by the poor initial data, which leads to unstable and inaccurate results. Hence, a new nonlinear model based on the Back Propagation neural network trained by the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm (LM-BP) is presented for calibration in this paper. Before the calibration, the original laser data is fitted linearly to avoid the ranging error and is optimized by an angular increment to reduce the step-angular error. Then, the calibration network with 4 inputs composed of the lasers points’ coordinates and constant 1, and 2 outputs are obtained, expected values of which are the coordinates of corresponding points in the image coordinates. The sum of square of errors between the network outputs and expected values is taken to adjust the modifications of the weights and thresholds with the Levenberg-Marquardt method to optimize the calibration model. Finally, compared with related researches, experimental results show that the accuracy of calibration between camera and 2DLS is significantly improved, and the detecting system is more suitable for actual measurement situations.
