In this paper, if the coefficient matrices in the continuous coupled algebraic Riccati equation (CCARE) undergo perturbations, with the aid of the equivalent form for the perturbation of the CCARE and the classical eigenvalue inequalities, we observe new upper matrix bounds for the perturbation of the CCARE through solving the linear inequalities. Finally, we present corresponding numerical examples to show the effectiveness of the derived results.
The Improved Upper Solution Bounds of the Continuous Coupled Algebraic Riccati Matrix Equation

In this paper, combining some special eigenvalue inequalities of matrix's product and sum with the equivalent form of the continuous coupled algebraic Riccati equation (CCARE), we construct linear inequalities. Then, in terms of the properties of M-matrix and its inverse matrix, through solving the derived linear inequalities, we offer new upper matrix bounds for the solution of the CCARE, which improve some of the recent results. Finally, we present a corresponding numerical example to show the effectiveness of the given results.

In linear discrete system, we often need to utilize similarity transformation to extend the solution ranges of its corresponding discrete matrix equations. Consequently, how to choose the similarity transformation matrix remains an open question in recent years. In this paper, by applying the theory of matrix's Jordan canonical form and the related properties of nonnegative matrices, we construct the similarity transformation matrix of some special similarity transformation, then present a necessary and sufficient condition and a corresponding algorithm, thus solve the open question totally.
Lower Solution Bounds of the Continuous Coupled Algebraic Riccati Matrix Equation

In this paper, applying eigenvalue sum inequality of symmetric matrix and the properties of M-matrix and its inverse matrix, we introduce new lower matrix bounds for the solution of the continuous coupled algebraic Riccati equation. Finally, we give corresponding numerical examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the derived results.
Deep removal of sulfur from real diesel by catalytic oxidation with halogen-free ionic liquid

A halogen-free task-specific ionic liquid (TSIL) of 1-(2-carboxylic acid) ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bisulfate ([(CH2)2COOHmim] [HSO4]) is applied for deep oxidative desulfurization of real diesel as a catalyst and reaction media. The sulfur level of real diesel can be reduced from 200 to 20.5 μg/g at room temperature with small amount of ionic liquid using H2O2 as an oxidant. The used ionic liquid can be easily recycled and no obvious decrease in catalytic activity can be found after recycling five times.

In the theory and the applications of Numerical Linear Al- gebra, the class of H-matrices is very important. In recent years, many appeared works have proposed iterative criterion for H-matrices. In this paper, we provide a new type of interleaved iterative algorithm, which is always convergent in finite steps for H-matrices and needs fewer iterations than those proposed in the related works, and a corresponding algorithm for general matrix, which eliminates the redundant computations when the given matrix is not an H-matrix. Finally, several numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms. Toward the Insights into Fast CO<sub>2</sub> Absorption over Novel Nanostructured MgO-Based Sorbent

<P>A uniform nanoplate-like MgO-based sorbents were prepared with eitelite and hydromagnesite intergrowing each other, and their CO<SUB>2</SUB> capture capacity was evaluated for fast CO<SUB>2</SUB> absorption in the thermal swing absorption process, with model wet industrial flue gas at a CO<SUB>2</SUB> concentration of 14.5 vol %, at ambient pressure. Fast absorption and desorption rate, acceptable dynamic absorption capacity, and good cyclic stability (9 wt % after recycling 100 times) have been obtained. Some theoretical work has been carried out and found eitelite was the only origin of the active MgO species for fast CO<SUB>2</SUB> uptake in TSA process. Nitrate was also demonstrated to have some promotive effect in CO<SUB>2</SUB> fast absorption on the active MgO species. The effectiveness of eitelite was close related to its special crystal structure, i.e., after calcination, the special layer assembling with the proximity of Na<SUP>+</SUP> and O<SUP>2-</SUP> at a molecular level probably contributed to the fast absorption. Meanwhile, the void space caused by decarbonization of hydromagnesite may also facilitate the absorption and diffusion of CO<SUB>2</SUB>. Therefore, this sorbent has been demonstrated to be a potential absorbent for postcombustion CO<SUB>2</SUB> capture from fossil-fuel-fired power plant.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Taking the randomness of mechanical parameters and thermal regime into account, a stochastic analysis model is established for investigating the uncertain stresses characteristics of embankment in permafrost regions. The stochastic finite element formulae are obtained by Neumann Stochastic Finite Element Method (NSFEM), and a stochastic coupling program is compiled by Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) software. Using our program, the stochastic stresses fields of an embankment in a permafrost region are obtained and analyzed. The results provide a new way to predict the stresses characteristics of the embankment in permafrost regions, and it shows that the stochastic temperature has a different influence on the mean stresses and standard deviation, and the larger value is at a different location. The standard deviations in stresses increase with time when considering the stochastic effect of temperature and parameters, which imply that the results of conventional deterministic analysis may be far from the true value. It can improve our understanding of the stochastic stresses fields of embankments and provide a theoretical basis for engineering reliability analysis and design in permafrost regions.

Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) doped with the rare earth metal Ce was prepared by a simple method using melamine and Ce(SO4)2쨌4H2O as precursors. X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to characterize the prepared catalysts. The results indicate that the introduction of Ce inhibits the crystal growth of g-C3N4, decreases the bandgap energy, and increases the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes. The activities of Ce-doped g-C3N4 catalysts were tested in the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light. The rate constant of Ce-doped g-C3N4 is 2.1횞 that of neat g-C3N4. A possible mechanism is proposed.
