• Separating Overlapped Fingerprints

        Fanglin Chen,Jianjiang Feng,Jain, A K,Jie Zhou,Jin Zhang IEEE 2011 IEEE transactions on information forensics and sec Vol.6 No.2

Fingerprint images generally contain either a single fingerprint (e.g., rolled images) or a set of nonoverlapped fingerprints (e.g., slap fingerprints). However, there are situations where several fingerprints overlap on top of each other. Such situations are frequently encountered when latent (partial) fingerprints are lifted from crime scenes or residue fingerprints are left on fingerprint sensors. Overlapped fingerprints constitute a serious challenge to existing fingerprint recognition algorithms, since these algorithms are designed under the assumption that fingerprints have been properly segmented. In this paper, a novel algorithm is proposed to separate overlapped fingerprints into component or individual fingerprints. The basic idea is to first estimate the orientation field of the given image with overlapped fingerprints and then separate it into component orientation fields using a relaxation labeling technique. We also propose an algorithm to utilize fingerprint singularity information to further improve the separation performance. Experimental results indicate that the algorithm leads to good separation of overlapped fingerprints that leads to a significant improvement in the matching accuracy.

Consensus of Multi-agent Systems with Dead-zone Nonlinearity

        Haibo Jiang,Liping Zhang,Jianjiang Yu,Caigen Zhou 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2012 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.10 No.4

In this paper, we investigate the consensus problem of multi-agent systems with dead-zone nonlinearity over undirected networks. Firstly, a control protocol is designed based on the local infor-mation of agents. Then by LaSalle’s invariance principle for non-smooth systems, we prove that if the undirected graph is connected then the consensus is achieved by the proposed control protocol. Sec-ondly, sufficient conditions are given to guarantee the consensus of multi-agent systems with dead-zone nonlinearity and switching topologies by Lyapunov method. Finally, numerical simulations show the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

Impulsive Output Consensus of Networked Passive Systems

        Haibo Jiang,Liping Zhang,Jianjiang Yu,Caigen Zhou 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2015 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.13 No.6

In this paper, we study the problem of impulsive output consensus of multi-agent dynamical systems, where each agent is a passive system. Firstly, an impulsive control protocol is designed for networked passive systems based on the local information of agents. Secondly, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the output consensus of the multi-agent dynamical systems for the network with fixed and switching topologies, respectively. Finally numerical simulations are included to show the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

Holistic Joint Optimal Cooperative Spectrum Sensing and Transmission Based on Cooperative Communication in Cognitive Radio

( Weizhi Zhong ),( Kunqi Chen ),( Xin Liu ),( Jianjiang Zhou ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2017 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.11 No.3

In order to utilize the licensed channel of cognitive radio (CR) when the primary user (PU) is detected busy, a benefit-exchange access mode based on cooperative communication is proposed to allow secondary user (SU) to access the busy channel through giving assistance to PU`s communication in exchange for some transmission bandwidth. A holistic joint optimization problem is formulated to maximize the total throughput of CR system through jointly optimizing the parameters of cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS), including the local sensing time, the pre-configured sensing decision threshold, the forward power of cooperative communication, and the bandwidth and transmission power allocated to SUs in benefit-exchange access mode and traditional access mode, respectively. To solve this complex problem, a combination of bi-level optimization, interior-point optimization and exhaustive optimization is proposed. Simulation results show that, compared with the tradition throughput maximizing model (TTMM), the proposed holistic joint optimization model (HJOM) can make use of the channel effectively even if PU is busy, and the total throughput of CR obtains a considerable improvement by HJOM.

Robust Transmission Waveform Design for Distributed Multiple-Radar Systems Based on Low Probability of Intercept

        Chenguang Shi,Fei Wang,Mathini Sellathurai,Jianjiang Zhou,Huan Zhang 한국전자통신연구원 2016 ETRI Journal Vol.38 No.1

This paper addresses the problem of robust waveform design for distributed multiple-radar systems (DMRSs) based on low probability of intercept (LPI), where signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and mutual information (MI) are utilized as the metrics for target detection and information extraction, respectively. Recognizing that a precise characterization of a target spectrum is impossible to capture in practice, we consider that a target spectrum lies in an uncertainty class bounded by known upper and lower bounds. Based on this model, robust waveform design approaches for the DMRS are developed based on LPI-SINR and LPI-MI criteria, where the total transmitting energy is minimized for a given system performance. Numerical results show the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.
