친족관계라는 “거미줄” - 가네하라 히토미 작품의 결혼문제를 중심으로 -

이 논문은 가네하라 히토미(金原ひとみ)의 소설 「婚前」(2010년)과 『마더스』 Mother`s(2011년) 를 주요 분석 대상으로 하여, 가네하라 작품에서 여성들이 결혼이라는 라이프 스타일을 추종함으로써 어떠한 상황에 당면하는지를 이 두 편의 작품을 통해 검토하는 것이 그 목적이다. 즉, 결혼을 선택한 여성이 외부의 상황이나 압박뿐만 아니라 자신의 의사에 의해서도 출산·임신의 개념과 결부되는 복합적인 상황을 밝히고자 하였다. 「婚前」의 주인공은 "불임(infertility)"인데, 작품 초반에는 생식의 문제와는 상관없는 태도를 보였으나, 파트너와의 친족 관계(kinship)에 편입될 때의 쾌락(ecstasy)을 경험함으로써 스스로를 임신·출산의 구조 속으로 밀어 넣는다. 가네하라 작품에서는 남녀 커플이라는 사랑의 형태가 가장 이상적인 것으로 그려진 경우가 많다. 그것을 완성하기 위해 「婚前」에서는 가네하라 작품에 있어 이상적인 커플의 사랑의 형태를 완성하기 위해서 부부 간의 아이(=세번째)을 원한다는 역설적인 상황이 제시되었다. 이 지점에는 일본의 근대 가족(modern family)이 요청하는 "신체 규범"이 크게 관여하고 있다. 이러한 규범과 당사자인 여성들이 상호적으로 작용하는 과정을 이 작품은 묘사하고 있는 것이다. 또한 다른 여성 작가 "임신"표현과 비교하면, 가네하라의 『마더스』에서 벌어지는 여성의 심경은 오히려 본질주의적(essentialism)인 경향을 강하게 띄고 있다. 그러나 그것은 90년대 이후의 임신·출산을 둘러싼 언론보도도 영향을 미쳤다고 해석이 가능하다. 가네하라의 작품은 오히려 그러한 엇갈리는 출산 환경의 현실을 나타내고 있는 것이다. 『마더스』는 "임신"의 상징적인 측면을 과장하여 보여 준다. 즉, 신체적·정신적인 변화, 육아에 따른 생활 환경의 변화, 부분적으로는 겹치지만 각각의 여성 간에 미묘하게 다른 체험이 병렬되어 있다. 그것은 바로 여성이 사회 내부에서 어떻게 의미화 되어 가는지를 표상한다. 현재 일본의 상황과 비교할 때, 여성의 신체 감각과 경험을 획일화하려는 사회적인 흐름에 대해서 위화감을 갖고 있는 주인공들이 묘사된 바를 다양한 관점에서 평가할 필요가 있다. 본론은 이처럼 문학 표현의 분석에서 규범적인 결혼의 이데올로기를 상대화시키는 여성의 감각을 적극적으로 평가한 것이다. I have chosen to use Kanehara Hitomi`s 2010 work, "Konzen" (Before marriage), for this paper the problems of women with marriage in Kanehara`s novels will be examined through the gender studies. To achieve its purpose, I will also refer to her other works. Thereby, the following results were found. Women have been suppressed with gender from the others in modern society. Additionally, they had further complicated their own problems of marriage. The stories of Kanehara suggest such a complex situation. A protagonist of "Konzen" is infertility. So she has been thought objectively reproductive. However, what enter the kinship of the husband has given her powerful ecstasy. That feeling has changed her mind, and she will associate herself with the concept of pregnancy and childbirth. In contemporary Japan society, there remains a strong norm. The process of such norm and consciousness of women to act in reciprocally have been included in the "Konzen". Also, the mental state of women which are represented by other novels of Kanehara is essentialism. It can be interpreted as a result of the influence of discourse surrounding the pregnancy and childbirth since the 1990s. Kanehara`s novels insist the actual condition of the environment surrounding women in Japan. For example, her masterpiece "Mothers" (2011) emphasizes symbolic properties of pregnancy. Kanehara`s works should be evaluated from the gender studies` point of view. Because she has written a situation in which mingled a sense of intimacy and discomfort for the gender ideology in Japan.
