Regard Goffmanien Sur Les Formules Votives En Roumain Contemporain
Alice Ionescu,Daniela Dincă,Ilona Bădescu 고려대학교 응용문화연구소 2022 에피스테메 Vol.- No.28

Purpose: Incidence, risk factors, and clinical consequences of pancreatic fistula (POPF) after D1+/D2 radical gastrectomy have not been well investigated in Western patients, particularly those from Eastern Europe. Materials and Methods: A total of 358 D1+/D2 radical gastrectomies were performed by surgeons with high caseloads in a single surgical center from 2002 to 2017. A retrospective analysis of data that were prospectively gathered in an electronic database was performed. POPF was defined and graded according to the International Study Group for Pancreatic Surgery (ISGPS) criteria. Uni- and multivariate analyses were performed to identify potential predictors of POPF. Additionally, the impact of POPF on early complications and long-term outcomes were investigated. Results: POPF was observed in 20 patients (5.6%), according to the updated ISGPS grading system. Cardiovascular comorbidities emerged as the single independent predictor of POPF formation (risk ratio, 3.051; 95% confidence interval, 1.161-8.019; P=0.024). POPF occurrence was associated with statistically significant increased rates of postoperative hemorrhage requiring re-laparotomy (P=0.029), anastomotic leak (P=0.002), 90-day mortality (P=0.036), and prolonged hospital stay (P<0.001). The long-term survival of patients with gastric adenocarcinoma was not affected by POPF (P=0.661). Conclusions: In this large series of Eastern European patients, the clinically relevant rate of POPF after D1+/D2 radical gastrectomy was low. The presence of co-existing cardiovascular disease favored the occurrence of POPF and was associated with an increased risk of postoperative bleeding, anastomotic leak, 90-day mortality, and prolonged hospital stay. POPF was not found to affect the long-term survival of patients with gastric adenocarcinoma.
TEM INVESTIGATIONS ON CNT-ADDED HEXAGONAL WO3 FILMS FOR SENSING APPLICATIONS

In this work, nanocrystalline hexagonal tungsten oxide was prepared by acidic precipitation from sodium tungstate solution. TEM studies of nanopowders showed that the average size of the hexagonal nanoparticles is 30–50 nm. Novel nanocomposites were prepared by embedding a low amount of gold-decorated carbon nanotubes into the hex-WO3 matrix. The addition of MWCNTs lowered the temperature range of sensitivity of hex-WO3 nanocomposites to NO2 hazardous gas. The sensitivity of hex-WO3 with Au-decorated MWCNTs to NO2 is at the temperature range between 25°C and 250°C.

This study was carried out to investigate storageassociatedchanges in the fatty acid profile (with GC and1H-NMR techniques) of oat-based gluten-free cookiesprepared with different fats: margarine (MAR), butter(BUT), lard (LAR), refined palm oil (RPO), refined palmoil with stearin (RPOS), and hydrogenated palm oil (HPO). GC analysis indicated that palmitic and stearic acid werethe predominant saturated fatty acids (SFAs), regardless ofthe type of fat used. cis-Oleic acid represented the majormonounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA), while cis-linoleicacid was the most abundant polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA). After 6 months of storage, a significant decreasingtrend in SFA concentration was observed for LAR andRPOS cookies, while a decrease in MUFA concentrationwas observed only for HPO cookies. In fresh cookies andin cookies stored for 6 months, the contents of SFA,MUFA, and PUFA determined by GC were positivelycorrelated with those determined by 1H-NMR (r[0.90).

Backgrounds/Aims: Standard pancreatic resections are the current approach for patients with resectable, isolated pancreatic metastases of other neoplasms. However, the role of parenchyma-sparing pancreatectomies for such pathology is poorly investigated. The aim of the present study is to assess the oncological safety of central pancreatectomies for pancreatic metastases of other neoplasms. Methods: A literature search was performed in order to identify patients with central pancreatectomies for pancreatic metastases of other neoplasms. The available data of the patients were extracted and analyzed. Results: A total number of 16 patients were identified. Renal carcinoma was the primary origin for the largest number of these patients (11 patients - 69%). The mean overall survival time was 109 months, with 1-, 5- and 10-year survival rates of 100%, 84%, and 60%, respectively. Conclusions: Although not often performed, a central pancreatectomy appears to be an oncologically safe surgical procedure in select patients with pancreatic metastases of other neoplasms of the pancreatic body and isthmus. However, no definitive conclusions should be drawn, based on the data provided in the present study, due to the limited number and heterogeneity of the patients.
The power of programmed grammars with graphs from various classes

Programmed grammars, one of the most important and well investigated classes of grammars with context-free rules and a mechanism controlling the application of the rules, can be described by graphs. We investigate whether or not the restriction to special classes of graphs re- stricts the generative power of programmed grammars with erasing rules and without appearance checking, too. We obtain that Eulerian, Hamil- tonian, planar and bipartite graphs and regular graphs of degree at least three are pr-universal in that sense that any language which can be gener- ated by programmed grammars (with erasing rules and without appearance checking) can be obtained by programmed grammars where the underly- ing graph belongs to the given special class of graphs, whereas complete graphs, regular graphs of degree 2 and backbone graphs lead to proper subfamilies of the family of programmed languages.
Hand- held Ultrasound Scanners in Medical Education: A Systematic Review
Victor Galusko,Mohammed Yunus Khanji,Owen Bodger,Clive Weston,John Chambers,Adrian Ionescu 한국심초음파학회 2017 Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging (J Cardiovasc Im Vol.25 No.3
Background: Ultrasound imaging devices are becoming popular in clinical and teaching settings, but there is no systematic information on their use in medical education. We conducted a systematic review of hand-held ultrasound (HHU) devices in undergraduate medical education to delineate their role, significance, and limitations. Methods: We searched Cochrane, PubMed, Embase, and Medline using the strategy: [(Hand-held OR Portable OR Pocket OR “Point of Care Systems”) AND Ultrasound] AND (Education OR Training OR Undergraduate OR “Medical Students” OR “Medical School”). We retained 12 articles focusing on undergraduate medical education. We summarised the patterns of HHU use, pooled and estimated sensitivity, and specificity of HHU for detection of left ventricular dysfunction. Results: Features reported were heterogeneous: training time (1–25 hours), number of students involved (1-an entire cohort), number of subjects scanned (27–211), and type of learning (self-directed vs. traditional lectures + hands-on sessions). Most studies reported cardiac HHU examinations, but other anatomical areas were examined, e.g. abdomen and thyroid. Pooled sensitivity 0.88 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.83–0.92] and specificity 0.86 (95% CI 0.81–0.90) were high for the detection of left ventricular systolic dysfunction by students. Conclusion: Data on HHU devices in medical education are scarce and incomplete, but following training students can achieve high diagnostic accuracy, albeit in a limited number of (mainly cardiac) pathologies. There is no consensus on protocols best-suited to the educational needs of medical students, nor data on long-term impact, decay in proficiency or on the financial implications of deploying HHU in this setting.
