Effects of Nano-Silica Particle Size on Fresh State Properties of Cement Paste

        Hailong Sun,Xiuzhi Zhang,Peng Zhao,Di Liu 대한토목학회 2021 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.25 No.7

The rheometer was used to test the rheology of cement paste with and without nano-silica, and the fluidity and free water content were tested, the isothermal calorimetry of cement and C3S was tested and hydration products were monitored using Raman spectroscopy. A modified Bingham model was used to describe the rheological properties of the paste, and the effects of nano-silica with different particle sizes on rheological parameters including yield stress, plastic viscosity and thixotropy were derived. The results show that the fresh state properties of the cement paste vary with the particle size of nano-silica at the same dosage. The decrease in the particle size of nano-silica reduces the fluidity and free water content, but increases the yield stress and plastic viscosity. The flocculation and surface water absorption of nano-silica reduce the free water content at 5 minutes, which results in a decrease in flow diameter and an increase in yield stress. During the time evolution, the heat of hydration and Raman spectroscopy show that nano-silica with smaller particle size has higher nucleation and pozzolanic effect, that is, with the same dosage, nano-silica with small particle size provides more nucleation sites to form calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) seeds and to promote the hydration of C3S and the formation of C-S-H.

The Chinese Portrayal of the Korean Peninsula in the Resisting America and Assisting Korea Literature of the 1950s

Sun, Hailong 성균관대학교 동아시아학술원 2015 Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies Vol.15 No.2

When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) first resolved to wage the "Resisting America and Assisting Korea" (RAAK) campaign, lack of acquaintance with or a negative perception of North Korea among the Chinese populace constituted the biggest impediment to social mobilization for the war effort. Therefore the CCP used literature and art as propaganda tools to shape politics, ideology,, and the collective will in favor of the RAAK war. By accentuating the relationship between China and North Korea as being as close as that of "lips and teeth," RAAK literature reaffirmed the importance of assisting North Korea. Moreover, the technique of binary opposition was employed in a narrative of North Koreans and North Korean society versus South Koreans and South Korean society, reshaping the Chinese perception of the Korean peninsula in the early 1950s.

A Novel Zero-Crossing Compensation Scheme for Fixed Off-Time Controlled High Power Factor AC-DC LED Drivers

Chang, Changyuan,Sun, Hailong,Zhu, Wenwen,Chen, Yao,Wang, Chenhao The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.5

A fixed off-time controlled high power factor ac-dc LED driver is proposed in this paper, which employs a novel zero-crossing-compensation (ZCC) circuit based on a fixed off-time controlled scheme. Due to the parasitic parameters of the system, the practical waveforms have a dead region. By detecting the zero-crossing boundary, the proposed ZCC circuit compensates the control signal VCOMP within the dead region, and is invalid above this region. With further optimization of the parameters KR and Kτ of the ZCC circuit, the dead zone can be eliminated and lower THD is achieved. Finally, the chip is implemented in HHNEC 0.5μm 5V/40V HVCMOS process, and a prototype circuit, delivering 7~12W of power to several 3-W LED loads, is tested under AC input voltage ranging from 85V to 265V. The test results indicate that the average total harmonic distortion (THD) of the entire system is approximately 10%, with a minimum of 5.5%, and that the power factor is above 0.955, with a maximum of 0.999.

A NOVEL ANTI-ESTROGEN RECEPTOR TARGETED WATER-SOLUBLE QDs FOR BREAST CANCER CELL IMMUNOFLUORESCENT LABELING

        XING REN,Jing-Yuan Wang,HAILONG HUANG,ZHELI XU,GUANG SUN 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2014 NANO Vol.9 No.7

This research is aimed to develop a novel kind of biomarker based on water-soluble quantum dots(QDs) conjugated with estrogen receptor (ER) for the detection of breast cancer (BC). To achievethe purpose, hydrophobic octadecylamine-coated QDs were encapsulated with amphiphilic bio-compatible centipede-like polymer p(aspartate)-Na-graft-p(ethylene glycol)-dodecylamine(PASP-Na-g-PEG-DDA), and then modi¯ed with ER monoclonal antibodies, which is one ofthe most popular biomarkers for the detection and management of breast cancer worldwide. Thetargeted QDs kept the original optical property of QDs. The cytotoxicity in vitro experimentsshowed that QDs-ER probes had no obvious toxic side e®ects. Remarkably, confocal laser scanningmicroscopy (CLSM) revealed that the localized °uorescence appeared around the nucleus of humanbreast cancer cell MCF7 (ER positive) compared with that of human breast cancer cellMBA-MD-231 (ER negative). According to the above analysis, this new kind of probe has greatpotential in the diagnosis of breast tumor in vitro in future clinical application.

Optimization of Mix Proportion of Self-compacting Concrete Based on Single Fluid Model

        Xiuzhi Zhang,Chong Zhang,Mengdi Bi,Haibo Yang,Hailong Sun,Ru Mu 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.26 No.3

The study aims to optimize the mix proportion of self-compacting concrete according to the workability and compressive strength. Firstly, based on computational fluid dynamics, the flowability and filling ability of self-compacting concrete were simulated by the single-fluid model to verify the single-fluid model. And then, the simulation of casting a pre-cambered composite beam was carried out. In the end, the mix proportion was optimized considering the filling ability and the compressive strength of self-compacting concrete. The results showed that increasing sand rate can improve the workability and decrease the rheological parameters of self-compacting concrete. The mixture with a 45% sand ratio in the case of 3% silica fume alone or 43% sand ratio in the case of 30% granulated blast furnace slag and 3% silica fume had adequate filling ability and excellent long term compressive strength. Moreover, the model can be used to simulate the filling ability and passing capacity of self-compacting concrete and the maximum error between the simulation results and the actual measured value is 4.80%. When the concrete mixture is considered to be uniform, namely, without considering the effect of the aggregates, the single-fluid model can simulate the casting of self-compacting concrete.
