        Comparison of lifetime-based methods for 2D phosphor thermometry in high-temperature environment

        <P>This paper discusses the currently available techniques for 2D phosphor thermometry, and compares the performance of two lifetime-based methods: high-speed imaging and the dual-gate. High-speed imaging resolves luminescent decay with a fast frame rate, and has become a popular method for phosphor thermometry in recent years. But it has disadvantages such as high equipment cost and long data processing time, and it would fail at sufficiently high temperature due to a low signal-to-noise ratio and short lifetime. The dual-gate method only requires two images on the decay curve and therefore greatly reduces cost in hardware and processing time. A dual-gate method for phosphor thermometry has been developed and compared with the high-speed imaging method through both calibration and a jet impingement experiment. Measurement uncertainty has been evaluated for a temperature range of 473–833 K. The effects of several key factors on uncertainty have been discussed, including the luminescent signal level, the decay lifetime and temperature sensitivity. The results show that both methods are valid for 2D temperature sensing within the given range. The high-speed imaging method shows less uncertainty at low temperatures where the signal level and the lifetime are both sufficient, but its performance is degraded at higher temperatures due to a rapidly reduced signal and lifetime. For <I>T</I>  >  750 K, the dual-gate method outperforms the high-speed imaging method thanks to its superiority in signal-to-noise ratio and temperature sensitivity. The dual-gate method has great potential for applications in high-temperature environments where the high-speed imaging method is not applicable.</P>

        A Heuristic Algorithm for Alongside Replenishment Scheduling Problem of Ship Fleet with Time Constraint

        The alongside replenishment scheduling problem with time constraint determining the partition of the ships, the order of replenishment and the allocation of time to the ships at the same time is analyzed. It is equivalent to a multi-stage flow shop scheduling problem with the object of maximizing the effectiveness value of ship fleet. The problem solving process is divided into three steps, and based on the analysis of the three steps, a heuristic algorithm is proposed. The algorithm firstly considers the time allocated to each ship, and then sequences the ships by heuristic rule combining greed with insertion, finally determines the ships partitioning to the port and standard side. Emulating example with different problems’ scale and time constraints shows that the proposed heuristic algorithm is superior to some other algorithms.

      • Discriminant Locality Preserving Projections Based on Neighborhood Maximum Margin

        This paper took a research about the small size sample problem of the discriminant locality preserving projections method, and proposed the discriminant locality preserving projections method based on neighborhood maximum margin (NMMDLPP). Firstly, the training sample structured a weighted of K-nearest neighbor graph, and gave the weight parameter to each side of the nearest neighbor graph for obtaining the intraclass neighbors and interclass neighbors local geometry information of each point; then reduce the interval between the intraclass neighbors and increase the interval between the interclass neighbors with the result of transfer matrix, and applied the neighbor point optimal refactoring coefficient of the data to the objective function. This method chose the difference between the locality preserving between-class scatter and the locality preserving within-class scatter as the objective function to avoid of calculating the inversion of matrix. This method has conducted an experiment on the UMIST face database and Yale face database. Experimental results show that the NMMDLPP algorithm is superior to other algorithms in recognition rate. The recognition rate can reach more than 91.4%.

      • THE INFLUENCE OF THE SHARING PLATFORM SOCIALIZATION ON THE CONSUMERS’ INTENTION TO PARTICIPATE - TRUST AS A MEDIATOR

        Introduction In order to solve the information asymmetry and make full use of resources (unused goods, spare capacity and so on), the sharing economy, which based on the application of mobile internet technology and focused on the consumption of the right to use, is developing rapidly. Lack of trust is considered to be one of the important problems hindering the development of sharing economy. M?hlmann (2015) said that trust is a fundamental determinant of sharing economy development and ensuring shared satisfaction. At present, sharing economy enterprises have established product evaluation system and docked a third party credit rating system (i.e. Zhima Credit) to promote consumers’ trust. However, with most enterprises are becoming more and more consistent in evaluation and credit rating system, there is a new problem emerged: how to further deepen consumers’ trust in order to promote consumers’ intention to participate continuously (Zucker, 1986; Lewis & Weigert, 1985). Granovetter (1985) mentioned that trust is the product of social relationships. Botsman and Rogers (2011) made it clear that social networks play an important role in building trust in sharing economy. And people are always more willing to accept the opinions of people who have social relations with them (Lu, Zhao, & Wang, 2010). Hence, with the feature of participant of everyone in sharing economy, it is necessary to further strengthen consumers’ trust through the social interaction among consumers and between consumers and sharing platforms. Theoretical Development Sharing economy is based on LBS and other new technologies to realize the matching of supply and demand information across time and space. And to a certain extent, it solves the problem of information asymmetry in the era of e-commerce. Yet consumer have new requirements for product information. For example, consumers are more concerned about whether the utility of products and services can meet their needs (i.e. some consumers are more concerned about when to reach their destination than the performance of the car). But it is difficult for company to understand each everyone of consumers’ utility preference and publish product utility information based on these preferences (Xie & Gerstner, 2007). Because this kind of utility preference has the characteristic of timeliness and personalization. Therefore, consumers’ perceived uncertainty about the utility of the product will also affect the consumers’ trust. In summary, we then address these research questions:(1) can the promotion of trust between consumers and sharing platforms be achieved through the socializing of sharing platforms and then affect consumers’ intention to participate continuously; (2) if so, which type of privacy protection method and social information can promote consumer trust; and (3) does the impact of sharing platform socialization on consumer trust vary according to consumers’ concerns about the perceived utility uncertainty of the product. Research Design We then address these issues using experiment data. The first experiment was a 2 (social media: have, not have) x 2 (individual trust propensity: trust, not trust) between-subject design on the intention to trust sharing platform and participant continuously. Perceived utility uncertainty was added to this design as a moderator. Moreover, the second experiment was a 2 (social information type: hedonic, utilitarian) x 2 (degree of privacy protection: week, strong) between-subject design on the intention to trust sharing platform. Our scales come from existing scales and optimize it according to the characteristics of sharing economy (Schneider, 1999; Dhar & Wertenbroch, 2000; McKnight, Choudhury, & Kacmar, 2002). Results and Conclusion The results of the first experiment show that whether or not the social platform has no significant impact on the consumer trust if the individual tends to trust others. And for individuals who tends to do not trust others, they are more likely to trust socialized sharing platforms. The higher the consumer perceived utility uncertainty is, the higher (lower) trust of the consumer platform in the socialized (not socialized) sharing platform. For the second experiment results, in the context of sharing economy, the utilitarian information has a greater positive impact on the consumer trust than the hedonic information. In addition, the stronger the privacy protection of sharing platforms, the higher the trust of consumes. This study makes several academic contributions. First, we extend the topic of socialization to sharing economy context. Second, we add the perceived utility uncertainty as a moderator, and supplement the role of perceived uncertainty. This research also provides several practical implications. First, sharing platform can promote their consumers’ trust by establishing their own social platform. This platform can be used as a differentiated competitive strategy for sharing platform. Second, sharing platform should guide consumers to share utilitarian information (i.e. weather for specific place or real time traffic) to improve consumer satisfaction. Third, sharing platform can access consumer preference information through this social platform for further product development and classification.

      • Immune and Anti-oxidant Functions of Ethanol Extracts of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi in Mice Bearing U14 Cervical Cancers

        Background: The objective was to study the effect of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi ethanol extracts (SBGE) on immune and anti-oxidant function in U14 tumor-bearing mice. Materials and Methods: U14 tumor-bearing mice were randomly divided into eight groups: a control group, a cyclophosphamide (CTX) group, three dose groups of SBGEI (high, medium, low), and three dose groups of SBGEII (high, medium, low). After two weeks, the thymus and spleen weight indices of mice bearing U14 cervical cancer were calculated. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) was used to determine the levels of serum IL-2, TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-8, and PCNA. MDA activity and SOD activity in plasma were measured with detection kits. Results: In the SBGE groups, thymus weight and spleen weight indices of U14 tumor-bearing mice were significantly higher than in the control group or CTX group (p<0.05). Compared to control group, the levels of serum IL-2 and TNF-${\alpha}$ in U14 tumor-bearing mice increased significantly, whereas the contents of serum IL-8 and PCNA decreased (p<0.05). The activity of SOD increased with the growing dose of SBGE, while the activity of MDA decreased significantly in the highe-rdose groups of SBGE. Conclusions: These findings suggested that SBGE, especially at high dose, 1000 mg/kg, showed significant immune and anti-oxidant effects infU14 tumor-bearing mice, which might be the mechanisms of SBGE inhibition of tumor growth.

        Rapid Detection of Campylobacter jejuni Using Fluorescent Microspheres as Label for Immunochromatographic Strip Test

        Campylobacter jejuni is a worldwide foodborne pathogen recognized as a leading cause of human gastrointestinal enteritis. A rapid, sensitive, and specific method is required to monitor food and water in cases of contamination by this pathogen. This report presents a novel immunochromatographic test (ICT) using fluorescent microspheres labeled with polyclonal antibodies of C. jejuni as the capture reagent dispensed onto the conjugate pad. Polyclonal antibodies against the outer membrane protein PEB1 of C. jejuni were used as the detective reagent at the test line, whereas the goat anti-rabbit IgG was used on the control line. PEB1 was obtained by gene cloning and expression to prepare its antibody. In this study, a simple and rapid ICT is reported for detecting C. jejuni for the first time with a detection limit of 106 CFU/mL.

        Accelerating Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting Using Hybrid Deep Learning and Iterative Reconstruction

        Purpose: To accelerate magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) by developing a flexible deep learning reconstruction method. Materials and Methods: Synthetic data were used to train a deep learning model. The trained model was then applied to MRF for different organs and diseases. Iterative reconstruction was performed outside the deep learning model, allowing a changeable encoding matrix, i.e., with flexibility of choice for image resolution, radiofrequency coil, k-space trajectory, and undersampling mask. In vivo experiments were performed on normal brain and prostate cancer volunteers to demonstrate the model performance and generalizability. Results: In 400-dynamics brain MRF, direct nonuniform Fourier transform caused a slight increase of random fluctuations on the T2 map. These fluctuations were reduced with the proposed method. In prostate MRF, the proposed method suppressed fluctuations on both T1 and T2 maps. Conclusion: The deep learning and iterative MRF reconstruction method described in this study was flexible with different acquisition settings such as radiofrequency coils. It is generalizable for different in vivo applications.

      • Knockdown of HMGN5 Expression by RNA Interference Induces Cell Cycle Arrest in Human Lung Cancer Cells

        HMGN5 is a typical member of the HMGN (high mobility group nucleosome-binding protein) family which may function as a nucleosomal binding and transcriptional activating protein. Overexpression of HMGN5 has been observed in several human tumors but its role in tumorigenesis has not been fully clarified. To investigate its significance for human lung cancer progression, we successfully constructed a shRNA expression lentiviral vector in which sense and antisense sequences targeting the human HMGN5 were linked with a 9-nucleotide loop. Inhibitory effects of siRNA on endogenous HMGN5 gene expression and protein synthesis were demonstrated via real-time RT-PCR and western blotting. We found HMGN5 silencing to significantly inhibit A549 and H1299 cell proliferation assessed by MTT, BrdU incorporation and colony formation assays. Furthermore, flow cytometry analysis showed that specific knockdown of HMGN5 slowed down the cell cycle at the G0/G1 phase and decreased the populations of A549 and H1299 cells at the S and G2/M phases. Taken together, these results suggest that HMGN5 is directly involved in regulation cell proliferation in A549 and H1299 cells by influencing signaling pathways involved in cell cycle progression. Thus, our finding suggests that targeting HMGN5 may be an effective strategy for human lung cancer treatment.

        Calculative and experimental study of the CFRP tape spring

        A tape spring is a thin-walled, straight strip of material with curved cross-section, and the current trend is towards tape springs made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). In this paper, performance of the CFRP tape spring was studied and its bending moment’s calculative formula during opposite-sense bending process was derivated, also, the theoretical formula’s accuracy was assessed by means of detailed, non-linear finite-element analysis. Subsequently, a CFRP tape spring was practical designed and manufactured through twiningmoulding workmanship, and some experiments were conducted to study its bending characters, verifying the validity of the theoretical analysis and finite element simulation perfectly.

        Mechanical simulation for the bending process of the AMOLED panel pad

        Panel pad bending is a critical process to improve the screen-to-body ratio of an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) panel. The failure analysis of the metal wirings is the key to ensure the reliability of signal transmission when the pad be bent to the back of the panel. In the present work, the sub-modeling technique combined with the periodic boundary condition was used to simulate the stress distribution of the bending area of the pad. The progressive failure of bent metal wirings was investigated by the extended finite element method. It is proved to be rational to prevent the wirings damage if the interlayer dielectric is replaced by an organic layer. In order to reduce stress of metal wirings, it is a measure to replace the original ultraviolet (UV) curable adhesive with a higher-modulus UV adhesive. The simulated results also show that rectangular perforations can avoid the stress concentration caused by the holes compared with circular perforations. For better stress distribution of metal wirings, it is necessary to increase the lengths of the rectangular holes and decrease the widths of that to a certain extent, which is helpful for restraining crack propagation by means of low-stress zones and holes.
