        小臼齒에 發生한 Dens Evaginatus의 臨床的 硏究

        The dens evaginatus was a developmental variation which has arisen as a result of an evagination of inner enamel epithelium into the enamel organ. It has been given various names by authors and was thought to be confined to Mongolian race. This study was performed to observe the incidence of dens evaginatus, and its ill-effects on the teeth and surrounding structures in 6356 Korean students and 10227 Korean adults. In plaster model,analysis was performed in accordance with forms and location of dens evaginatus on the occlusal surface in the premolars. The pathologic changes caused by dens evaginatus were observed in paralleling periapical radiograms. The results were as follows: 1.The prevalence of dens evaginatus in the student's group was 2.6%, and showed no sex predilection in the occurrence of evaginated teeth. 2.The sequence of dens evaginatus was in order of mandibular 2nd premolar, mandibular 1st premolar, maxillary 2nd premolar, and maxillary 1st premolar, respectively. 3.Of the cases with dens evaginatus, 73.5% occured bilaterally. 4.The nipple form was the most frequent in respect of elevation of tubercle on the occlusal surface. 5.In the base form of the tubercle, the occurrence of grooved form was the highest. 6.In the maxilla, those cases which the tuvercle arose from the lingual ridge of the buccal cusp were most predominant. And in the mandible, those cases which the tubercle arose from the center of the occlusal surface were the most frequent. 7.The pupal and periapical complications were shown in 24.4% of evaginated teeth in periapical radiogram.

        증감지와 필름에 따른 방사선상 변화에 대한 연구

        This study was to compare the quality of image by different screen and film combinations. Using the sensitometer measured the speed and average gradient of blue sensitive films and orthochromatic films. The films was combined with rare earth screen LR, LM, LF and conventional screen OM, OH, XOR, OKa and exposed the stepwedge to impulse 2,3,4,6,10,15,24,38,60 and measured the density. The following results were obtained: 1. The density of film and film-screen combinations showed significant difference, then in film-screen combinations was significantly different by the screens than films. 2. The speed of blue sensitive films was little different, the TMG of orthochromatic films produced high speed, and the AX film was high average gradient. 3. The relative speed of film-screen combinations showed significant difference, and was high in the OKa of the conventional screens and in the LR of the rare earth screens, especially that of LR screen in the combination with blue sensitive films was high. 4. The average gradient of film-screen combinations showed no significant difference, and was high in the OKa screen and LR/OG combination, and that of OKa/AX combination was highest. 5. The latitude of film-screen combinations showed significant difference by screens, and was high in the LM screen in combination with blue sensitive films and in the OM screen in combination with orthochromatic films. 6. The subject contrast of film-screen combinations showed significant difference by screen, and was high in the LR screen in combination with blue sensitive AX film and orthochromatic TMG film.

        방사선조사가 백서 협점막에 미치는 영향에 관한 전자현미경적 연구

        The author studied the acute reaction of cobalt-60 irradiation to buccal mucosa in rats and difference of the effects of single versus fractionated exposure. 195 Sprague Dowley strain rats, weighing about 120gm, were used in this experiment. 3 rats served as controls and the remaining 192 rats were divided into six groups of 32 rats each. Experimental group Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ were received a single dose of 15Gy, 16.5Gy, 18Gy and group Ⅳ, Ⅴ, Ⅵ were received two equal sized fractionated dose of 9Gy, 9.75Gy, 10.5Gy at 4 hour intervals, respectively. The experimental groups were irradiated with cobalt-60 teletherapy unit, Picker model 4M 60 (Field size, 12x5 cm, SSD, 50㎝, Dose rate, 222cGy/min, Depth, 1㎝). The animals were sacrificed at 1, 2, 3, 6, 12 hours, 1, 3, 7 days after irradiation and the changes of the irradiated buccal mucosa were observed by electron and light microscopy. The results were as follows: 1. A single exposure was more damaging than fractionated exposure, and as the radiation dose increased, the changes of cell organelles became faster, but the healing of radiation-induced damage in fractionated exposure was faster than in single exposure. 2. The radiation-induced changes of the basal cells were the most prominent in 18Gy-single exposure group, and the least in 18Gy-fractionated exposure group. 3. Electron-microscopically, there appeared nuclear changes, swelling of mitochondria and rough endoplasmic reticulum, decrease of free ribosome, presence of vesicles, widening of intercellular space, and loss of basal lamina. The early remarkable changes were partly loss of nuclear membrane and swelling of mitochondria. 4. Light-microscopically, derangement and pyknosis of basal cells, hydropic changes of spinous cells, enlargement of granular cells, indistinctness of basement membrane, and proliferation of epithelium were observed.
