Real Time Temperature Distribution Measurement of a Microheater by Using Off-Axis Digital Holography

We describe a single shot off-axis digital holography based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometic scheme for measuring temperature distribution of a microheater. The proposed scheme has the capability of reconstructing object phase image which is dependent of the temperature distribution in real time. Experimental results shows that there is a moderate linear relationship between the measured phase and temperature in the range of $20^{\circ}C$ to $60^{\circ}C$. We expect that the proposed system can provide a very reliable and fast solution in various surface temperature distribution measurement applications. 본 논문은 마이크로히터표면의 실시간 온도분표측정을 위한 마하젠더 간섭계 기반의 off-axis 디지털홀로그래피기술에 대한 것이다. 제안된 방법은 재료표면의 온도분포에 직접적인 함수인 2차원 위상 분포를 측정하고, 이를 통해 실시간으로 재료표면의 온도 map을 측정할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 섭씨 20도에서 60도 사이의 온도구간에서 마이크로히터 표면의 위상변화와 실제표면온도가 선형적인 관계가 있음을 실험적으로 보였다. 제안된 방법은 재료표면의 온도분포를 실시간으로 측정하고자 하는 다양한 응용분야에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The fluid flow, heat transfer and the local mass fraction of chemical species in the chemical vapor deposition(CVD) manufacturing process are studied numerically. Flow with a dilute precursor concentration of silane in hydrogen as the carrier gas enters to the reactor and deposits silicon onto the heated surface. The silicon deposition rate using silane is calculated in the horizontal or vertical, axisymmetric reactor. The effects of inlet carrier gas velocity, mass fraction of silane, susceptor angle and rotation of surface on the deposition rate are described.

Numerical calculation has been performed to investigate the effect of inlet configuration on the<br/> growth rate of GaN layer on the heated susceptor. The conventional single inlet, where the gas is<br/> mixed by force in the inlet, is compared with separated flow inlet. Two-parallel gas flow H2 and<br/> NH3<br/> are separated by a plate with finite length which are also parallel to the susceptor. The effect<br/> of separated plate length, carrier gas and flow rate of each precursor on the mixing of reactant<br/> gases and growth rate were investigated. Furthermore the three dimensional model is employed to<br/> predict the transverse variation of growth rate.

Numerical calculation has been performed to investigate the transport phenomena in the horizontal reactor which has two different gas inlets for MOCVD(metalorganic chemical vapor deposition). The full elliptic governing equations for continuity, momentum, energy and chemical species are solved by using the commercial code FLUENT. It is investigated how thermal characteristics, reactor geometry, and the operating parameters affect flow fields, mass fraction of each reactants. The numerical simulations demonstrate that flow rate of each species, inlet geometry of the reactor, and its distance from the susceptor as well as the inclination of upper wall of reactor can be used effectively to optimize reactor performance. The commonly used idealized boundary conditions are also investigated to predict flow phenomena in the actual deposition system.

The present study investigated the mechanism of physical water treatment through particle count analysis of the water sample with and without physical water treatment (PWT) technology. The PWT methods utilized catalytic devices and low-voltage-high-frequency device wherein water continuously recirculated through them. Concentrated hard water at 2,300-2,700 μS/㎝ electrical conductivity was utilized in the study at two different flow rates (i.e., 500 l/h, and 800 l/h). After 66 hours of operation for each test, the results showed that the total number of particles in the PWT-treated cases increased from 165-539% as compared with the no-treatment cases depending on the flow rate used. The present results provided by particle counting support the bulk precipitation hypothesis as the mechanism of PWT and electro-flocculation mechanism with the use of catalytic materials and LVHF technique.
A study on heat transfer enhancement using straight and twisted internal fin inserts

The present study investigated the effect of internal aluminum fins with a star shape cross section on the heat transfer enhancement and pressure drop in a counterflow heat exchanger. A concentric tube heat exchanger was used with water as the working fluid. The heat transfer rate increased by 12-51% over the plain tube value, depending on the internal fin configuration used. However, the pressure drop also increased substantially by an average of 286-338%. The results showed that a straight fin configuration is good enough to produce a heat transfer increase in a counterflow heat exchanger. Twisted fin configurations did not further increase the heat transfer rate.

본 논문에서는 환기를 위한 시로코 팬의 내부에서 유동 및 소음을 해석하기 위해 상용프로그램으로 해석하였다. 소음원의 위치와 크기만을 확인하기 위해 유동해석은 정상 상태 유동 해석을 진행하였다. 유동 해석을 통해 시로코 팬의 내부에서 발생하는 유동의 속도와 속도 벡터로 유동의 흐름을 보았다. 내부의 압력 분포는 contour로 결과를 보았다. 정상상태 유동 해석 결과에서 Curle surface acoustic power와 Proudman acoustic power를 활용하여 해석결과로부터 소음원의 위치와 크기를 볼 수 있다. Curle surface acoustic power으로 표면에서 발생하는 소음을 볼 수 있다. Proudman acoustic power으로 유동영역에서 발생하는 소음을 볼 수 있다. 정상 상태에서 시로코 팬의 내부에서 발생하는 소음원의 위치와 크기만 볼 수 있기 때문에 발생하는 소음의 주파수를 확인하기 위해서는 추가적으로 비정상 상태 해석을 진행할 필요가 있다. 본 연구를 통해 시로코 팬의 성능을 향상시키고 소음을 저감하기 위한 연구의 기초 자료가 될 것으로 기대된다. This study examined the flow and noise inside a sirocco fan for ventilation as a commercial program. To confirm only the location and power of the noise source, flow analysis was performed with steady state flow analysis. Through flow analysis, the flow was observed in the sirocco fan and the velocity vector. The pressure distribution inside was observed with contours. From the results of steady analysis, the position and size of the noise source could be seen using the "Curle surface acoustic power" and "Proudman acoustic power". The Curle surface acoustic power can be used to observe the noise from the surface. The Proudman acoustic power can be used to detect noise generated in the flow region because the position and size of the noise source generated inside the sirocco fan can be seen only in the steady state. Therefore it is necessary to further analyze the unsteady state to check the frequency of the noise generated. This study provides basic data for improving the performance of the Sirocco fan and reducing the noise.
