This study examined importance and performance of urban agriculture education program of the trainees who attended urban agriculture education, and suggested reformation of urban agriculture instructor course of Gyeonggi Provincial Agricultural Research & Extension Services by IPA models. The investigation was done on October 7, 2011. The subject was 40 trainees of urban agriculture instructor course of Gyeonggi Provincial Agricultural Research & Extension Services. The study suggested reformation of urban agriculture education program based on the findings as follow: Firstly, the instructors should teach trainees not theoretically but practically to let the trainees make use of learning at urban agriculture. Secondly, teaching material that is not theoretically but practical enough to apply it to actual urban agriculture should be supplied. Thirdly, urban agriculture education should be done not theoretically but practically considering its characteristics. Theoretical contents have been already included in teaching material, and practice oriented education should be done to let trainees put theory into practice on-the-spot. Practice oriented education should be supported in the planning future education. In addition future urban agriculture education program should consider importance as well as practice of educational contents, lecturers, operations and facilities.

The study has investigated cases of promotion of farm village experience tourism. The purpose of the study is to help urban migrants to rural who are interested in farm village experience tourism project and want to promote and give materials to the migrants and let them contribute to the project. The subject is urban migrants to rural who have settled down in farming villages to promote farming village experience tourism project. The findings are: The urban migrants have difficulties at economic hardship, lack of public relations for invitation of customers, subscription to insurance to keep visitors’safety, lack of accommodation facilities for visitors, lack of experience program and/or manuals, and progress methods of farm village experience program. So, the study has given implications.

The purpose of the study was to identify the needs assessment for urban agricultural program. The findings were as follows; Citizens at urban cities said that educational program of ``shortage of farming technology education`` should be developed, and wanted to be given ``farming technology`` of urban agriculture education area more than other education areas. The citizens asked for urban agricultural program with both theories and practice education than existing urban agricultural program that relied upon basic theory education. And, they wanted urban agricultural program that was based on ``farming technology`` to consist of practice education and theory education at the ratio of 80 and 20 and to be professional and differentiated. The citizens preferred 3 to 6 months of education period the most, and more than 95 percent of them wanted to join the program when it is developed.

본 논문은 가스절연변전소에 설치되어 있는 피뢰설비의 감시와 진단이 가능한 전문가 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 기술하였다. 제안한 전문가 시스템은 마이크로프로세서 기반의 데이터 취득 모듈과 진단 알고리즘으로 구성되며, 피뢰기 진단에 필요한 계통전압, 누설전류성분 및 온도 등을 검출하고 분석한다. 또한 서지전류의 발생시각, 극성 및 크기를 기록할 수 있는 지능형 서지 카운터를 내장하고 있다. 측정된 모든 데이터는 IEEE 802.15.4에 규정된 저속 무선망을 통해 원격지의 컴퓨터로 전송되며, 이로 인해 고전압 대전류 환경에서도 전자계 간섭을 피할 수 있다. 전문가 시스템에서 피뢰기의 진단은 지식 베이스와 추론 엔진, 그리고 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스로 구성된 JESS(Java Expert System Shell)를 이용하여 결정한다. This paper dealt with the design and implementation of an expert system to monitor and diagnose the lightning arresters in GIS substations. The expert system consists of a data acquisition module(DAM) based on microprocessor and diagnostic algorithms. The DAM measures and analyzes several parameters necessary for the arrester diagnosis such as system voltages, leakage current components, and temperatures. Also, it includes an intelligent surge counter which can record the date and time, the polarity, and the amplitude of surge currents. All the data acquired is transmitted to a remote computer by a low rate wireless network specified in IEEE 802.15.4 to avoid electromagnetic intereference under high voltage and large current environments. The decision-making for the arrester diagnosis completes with a Java Expert System Shell(JESS) which is composed of a knowledge base, an inference engine and a graphic user interface(GUI).
Development of Ergonomic Backrest for Office Chairs

Objective: This study aims to develop and scientifically investigate the efficacy of the Spine S-curve Reactive Backrest that responds to the spine curvature of the user when seated, and maintains and enhances the natural S-curve of the lower back, thereby helping to relieve fatigue, correct posture and prevent spine deformities. Background: The focus of current development, design guidelines and/or standards for office chairs is mainly placed on the chair"s dimensions, incline angle, adjusting features and lumbar support. Research and development was called for developing a chair backrest that maintains and improves the S-curve of the full spine. Method: The Spine S-curve Reactive Backrest was ergonomically designed to maintain correct posture and enhance user comfort. When leaned on, the backrest responds to the user"s spine line and the whole lower back sits closely against the backrest, thereby aligning the user"s lower back and backrest as one to maintain and improve the natural S-curve formation of the spine. In order to evaluate the efficacy of the newly designed chair (new design) and the comparison target (chair), five male college students of standard body type with normal spine curvature were selected as test subjects, and a motion analyzer and electromyography were utilized to measure Scurve and erector spinae muscle activity when seated. Results: The spine S-curve was better maintained and improved when sitting in the new design than in the comparison chair. Particularly notable was the greater displacement gap of the thoracic spine than the cervical spine, and also that of the lumbar more than the thoracic spine, with the increase of the backrest tilting angle. Furthermore, the electromyogram results showed the new design caused a lower fatigue level of the erector spinae muscles compared to the comparison chair, and also earned a higher preference in the subjective opinion results. Conclusion: The newly designed chair in this study responds to the user"s spine curvature and maintains and enhances the lower back"s natural S-curve, and thereby relieves fatigue, promotes better posture, and helps to prevent spine deformities better than existing office chairs. There is a need to widely introduce and supply this new design. Application: The new design is applicable to office and student chairs, and is expected to improve concentration and work efficiency.

<P><I>Houttuynia cordata</I> Thunb (HCT) is widely used in oriental medicine as a remedy for inflammation. However, at present there is no explanation for the mechanism by which HCT affects the production of inflammatory cytokines. The current study aimed to determine the effect of an essence extracted from HCT on mast cell-mediated inflammatory responses. Inflammatory cytokine production induced by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA) plus a calcium ionophore, A23187, was measured in the human mast cell line, HMC-1, incubated with various concentrations of HCT. TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8 secreted protein levels were measured using an ELISA assay. TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8 mRNA levels were measured using RT-PCR analysis. Nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins were examined by western blot analysis. The NF-κB promoter activity was examined by luciferase assay. It was observed that HCT inhibited PMA plus A23187-induced TNF-α and IL-6 secretion and reduced the mRNA levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8. It was also noted that HCT suppressed the induction of NF-κB activity, inhibited nuclear translocation of NF-κB and blocked the phosphorylation of IκBα in stimulated HMC-1 cells. It was concluded that HCT is an inhibitor of NF-κB and cytokines blocking mast cell-mediated inflammatory responses. These results indicate that HCT may be used for the treatment of mast cell-derived allergic inflammatory diseases.</P>
