Using Hybrid Wavelet Approach and Neural Network Algorithm to Forecast Distribution Feeders

        Bagheri Mehdi,Zadehbagheri Mahmoud,Kiani Mohammad Javad,Zamani Iman,Nejatian Samad 대한전기학회 2023 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.18 No.3

In this paper, using an algorithm based on the combination of data based on neural network virology and bacterial nutrition algorithm, improves the performance of the neural network prediction method. Also, the selection of two types of downstream and upstream filters in the wavelet transformation increases the predictive efficacy of neurological prediction. Based on the results, the optimized clustered neural network method has a more favorable response than the other methods. By selecting the appropriate filter and multichannel processing method, the maximum error percentage has improved by 15%. However, compared to the neural network prediction method, the proposed method has more computational volume due to the use of wavelet transform and also three times the use of neural prediction. Due to the large number of layers and used neurons, the neural network method has a much higher computational volume than the linear prediction method, where the linear prediction method has a higher error than the proposed method depending on the data used for training.

Gender-Related Differences in Reliability of Thorax, Lumbar, and Pelvis Kinematics During Gait in Patients With Non-specific Chronic Low Back Pain

        Rasool Bagheri,Ismail Ebrahimi Takamjani,Mehdi Dadgoo,Amir Ahmadi,Javad Sarrafzadeh,Mohammad Reza Pourahmadi,Amir-Salar Jafarpisheh 대한재활의학회 2018 Annals of Rehabilitation Medicine Vol.42 No.2

Objective To evaluate test-retest reliability of trunk kinematics relative to the pelvis during gait in two groups (males and females) of patients with non-specific chronic low back pain (NCLBP) using three-dimensional motion capture system. Methods A convenience sample of 40 NCLBP participants (20 males and 20 females) was evaluated in two sessions. Participants were asked to walk with self-selected speed and kinematics of thorax and lumbar spine were captured using a 6-infrared-cameras motion-analyzer system. Peak amplitude of displacement and its measurement errors and minimal detectable change (MDC) were then calculated. Results Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) were relatively constant but small for certain variables (lower lumbar peak flexion in female: inter-session ICC=0.51 and intra-session ICC=0.68; peak extension in male: intersession ICC=0.67 and intra-session ICC=0.66). The measurement error remained constant and standard error of measurement (SEM) difference was large between males (generally ≤4.8°) and females (generally ≤5.3°). Standard deviation (SD) was higher in females. In most segments, females exhibited higher MDCs except for lower lumbar sagittal movements. Conclusion Although ICCs were sufficiently reliable and constant in both genders during gait, there was difference in SEM due to difference in SD between genders caused by different gait disturbance in chronic low back pain. Due to the increasing tendency of measurement error in other areas of men and women, attention is needed when measuring lumbar motion using the method described in this study.

      • S100A12 and RAGE Expression in Human Bladder Transitional Cell Carcinoma: a Role for the Ligand/RAGE Axis in Tumor Progression?

Khorramdelazad, Hossein,Bagheri, Vahid,Hassanshahi, Gholamhossein,Karami, Hormoz,Moogooei, Mozhgan,Zeinali, Masoud,Abedinzadeh, Mehdi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.7

Background: Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) and prostate cancer are the most frequent cancers in the male genitourinary tract. Measurement of biological biomarkers may facilitate clinical monitoring and aid early diagnosis of TCC. The aim of the present investigation was to detect the mRNA levels of S100A12 and RAGE (receptor for advanced glycation end products) in patients suffering from bladder TCC. Materials and Methods: To explore the involvement of S100A12 and RAGE genes, total RNA was harvested from cancer tissues and samples obtained from normal non-tumorized urothelium of the same patients. Quantitative PCR (qPCR) was subsequently employed to determine the mRNA levels of S100A12 and RAGE. Results: The results showed that mRNA expression of S100A12 and RAGE was significantly up-regulated in the cancer tissue. Conclusions: According to the results presented in the current study, mRNA expression of S100A12 and RAGE might be as a useful biomarker for TCC. Therefore, this ligand-receptor axis possibly plays important roles in the development of TCC and may serve either as an early diagnostic marker or as a key factor in monitoring of response to treatment. More research is required concerning inhibition of the S100A12-RAGE axis in different cancer models.

Enhanced degradation of 2,4-dichlorphenoxyacetic acid herbicide by CaO2 activated by Fe(II) and ultrasound irradiation: Practical insight and mineralization

        Eslami Akbar,Mahdipour Fayyaz,Maleksari Hajar Sharifi,Varank Gamze,Ghasemi Seyed Mehdi,Nejatian Parisa,Bagheri Amin,Madihi-Bidgoli Soheila 한국화학공학회 2023 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.40 No.12

CaO2 was activated by Fe(II) and ultrasound (US) irradiation to degrade 2,4-dichlorphenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) for the first time. Among transition metals (Fe, Cu, Mn and Co), Fe(II) had the best performance for the activation of CaO2. The impact of pH, CaO2 and Fe(II) concentration was studied, and under optimal situation ∼91% of 2,4-D was degraded during 60 min reaction time. The quenching experiments showed that the hydroxyl radical was the main factor for the destruction of 2,4-D while superoxide anions had a minor role. The bicarbonate ions and acid humic exhibited a strong inhibitory effect on the performance of CaO2/US/Fe(II) process. Carbon and chlorine mineralization of 2,4-D degradation was investigated; around 41% of C and 35% of Cl were mineralized during 60 min reaction time. The function of CaO2/US/Fe(II) process was studied on real drainage and other organic pollutants, and the results showed that the CaO2/US/Fe(II) process can be practical for water treatment. Finally, intermediates of 2,4-D degradation were identified, a pathway was proposed, and the toxicity of intermediates was assessed by ECOSAR software.

Should all patients with hypertension be worried about developing severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)?

        Bahardoust Mansour,Goharrizi Mohammad Ali Sheikh Beig,Bahardoust Mansour,Alvanegh Akbar Ghorbani,Ataee Mohammad Reza,Bagheri Mehdi,Navidiyan Ensiyeh Shabani,Zijoud Seyed Reza Hosseini,Heiat Mohammad 대한고혈압학회 2021 Clinical Hypertension Vol.27 No.2

Background: Hypertension, the most common comorbidity among coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients, is accompanied by worse clinical outcomes, but there is lack of evidence about prognostic factors among COVID19 patients with hypertension. We have come up with some prognostic factors to predict the severity of COVID-19 among hypertensive patients. In addition, epidemiologic, clinical and laboratory differences among COVID-19 patients with and without underlying hypertension were evaluated. Methods: Medical profiles of 598 COVID-19 cases were analyzed. Patients were divided into two comparative groups according to their positive or negative history of hypertension. Then, epidemiologic, clinical, laboratory and radiological features and also clinical outcomes were compared. Results: 176 (29.4%) patients had underlying hypertension. Diabetes was significantly higher in hypertensive group [72 (40.9%) vs 76 (18%)] (P-value: 0.001). Cardiovascular and renal disorders were significantly higher in hypertensive patients. (P-value: 0.001 and 0.013 respectively). In COVID-19 patients with hypertension, severe/critical types were significantly higher. [42(23.8%) vs. 41(9.7%)], (P-value: 0.012). In the logistic regression model, Body mass index > 25 (ORAdj: 1.8, 95% CI: 1.2 to 2.42; P-value: 0.027), age over 60 (ORAdj: 1.26, 95% CI: 1.08 to 1.42; P-value: 0.021), increased hospitalization period (ORAdj: 2.1, 95% CI: 1.24 to 2.97; P-value: 0.013), type 2 diabetes (ORAdj: 2.22, 95% CI: 1.15 to 3.31; P-value: 0.001) and chronic kidney disease (ORAdj: 1.83, 95% CI: 1.19 to 2.21; P-value: 0.013) were related with progression of COVID-19. Conclusion: Hypertensive patients with Age > 60-year-old, BMI > 25 Kg/m2 , CVD, diabetes and chronic kidney disease are associated with poor outcomes in those with COVID-19 infection.
