林雲興,洪善熹,崔亨坤 慶北大學校 1960 論文集 Vol.4 No.-
1. One hundred and forth-four cases of war casualties with peripheral nerve injuries who were observed in one of the Army Hospitals of R.O.K. during the period between Jul. 1. 1951 and Oct. 10, 1952 were reviewed. 2. Injuries to peripheral nerves constituted approximately eight percent of all war casualties. The causative agents of the injuries were gunshot wounds in 65 cases(45.1%) and fragment wounds in 71 cases(49.3%) 3. The distribution of nerve involvements was as follows: Ulnar nerve 28.8% Median nerve 25.8% Radial nerve 12.9% Peroneal nerve 12.9% Musculocutaneous nerve 11.0% Sciatic nerve 4.3% Brachial plexus 3.1% Tibial nerve 1.2% 4. Majority of cases had single nerve injuries (83.3%). The left and right limbs were involved with equal frequency but the incidence of injuries of upper extremities was much high than those of lower one, being almost twice. 5. As clinical manifestations, pain was variously described by the patients in 88.6%, sensory disturbances in 90.4%, disturbances of vasomotor activity and sweating in 66.5% and muscle atrophy of various degree in 85% 6. On operative findings, there found adhesions of various degree in 92.5% of all cases and neuroma formation in 65% 7. No Significant relationship was found between severity of pain and that of adhesion or neuroma formation but there found some evidence of correlation between the severity of adhesion and neuroma formation.
