북큐슈지역 항만을 이용한 국제복합운송 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

일본 큐슈경제권은 일본과 동아시아 경제권의 결절점에 위치하고 있기 때문에 동아시아 지역에서 국제물류 수행에 유리한 입지 조건을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 일본의 북큐슈지역 항만을 중심으로 한국과 중국 간의 국제복합운송을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 북큐슈지역에 위치한 항만과 한국, 중국과의 교역 확대 및 화물 물동량 창출을 저해하는 문제점 분석 및 이를 극복하기 위한 대안방안 모색을 통한 국제복합운송활성화 방안 제시를 주요 목적으로 한다. 제시된 방안은 북큐슈지역 항만이 동북아지역의 한·중·일간의 보다 경쟁력 있는 글로벌 물류 수행 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. Globalization has been discussed as an important market environment in various territories. Maritime industry is also closely associated with globalization. Together with globalization, faster, more reliable, and cheaper maritime transport services have facilitated the expansion of global trade. With the development of emerging economies, the maritime industry had increased dramatically. The rise of China as the world manufacturing center was a key driver of this growth. Since 2008, however, there have been some declines because of the global financial crisis. It is not easy for container ports to have a sufficient container cargo volumes including transshipment. Therefore, container ports in individual countries require effective strategies for generating sufficient container traffic. Through a country-level analysis, this paper is designed to empirically investigate the influences of globalization on individual container ports` internal capabilities and transshipment traffic volumes.
