The objectives of this paper were to validate the proposed network flow model using field data and to demonstrate the model applicability for various purposes. The model was tested with data from the Banweol watershed, where an intentive streamflow gauging system has been established. Model parameters were not calibrated with field data so that it can be validated as ungagged conditions. Three different schemes were employed to represent the drainage system of the tested watershed : a single, complex, and detailed network. The single network assumed the water-shed as a cell, while complex and detailed networks considered several cells. The results from different schemes were individually compared satisfactorily to the observed daily stages at the Banweol reservoir located at the outlet of the watershed. The results from three schemes were in close agreement with each other, Justifying that the model performs very well for different network schemes being used. Daily streamflow from three network schemes was compared for a selected reach within the watershed. The results were very close to each other regardless of network formulation. And the model was applied to simulate daily streamflow before and after the construction of a reservoir at a reach. The differences were discussed, which reflected the influences of the dam construction upon the downstream hydrology. Similar appliocations may be possible to indentify the effects of hydraulic structures on streamflow.

The Objectives of this paper were to develop a modified tank model that is capable of simulating daily streamflow from a small watershed using daily watershed evapotranspiration and to test the applicability of the model to different watersheds. Tank model was restructured to consist of three series of tanks, each of which may mathematically reflect watershed runoff mechanisms from different components of surface runoff, interflow, and baseflow. And pan evaporation was correlated to potential evapotranspiration estimated from a combina-tion method, and was multiplied by monthly crop and landuse coefficients, and watershed storage coefficient to estimate the watershed evapotranspiration losse. Ten watersheds were selected to calibrate model parameters that were defined using an optimization scheme, and the results were correlated with watershed parameters. Simulated daily runoff was compared to the observed ones from the tested watersheds. The simulating results were in good agreement with the observed values when optimal and calibrated parameters were used. Ungaged conditions were also applied to compare simulated values to the observed. And the results were in fair conditions for all the tested watersheds which differ considerably in their sizes, landuse types, and physiological features.

This paper describes the background and the development of a hydrologic network flow model. The model was development to simulate daily water demand and supply for selected a water resources system. The proposed network flow model considers daily runoff from subareas, various water demands, and diversion structures within each subarea. Daily streamflow at a reach is simula-ted after balancing the water demands from subareas. The lateral inflow from subareas is simulated using a modified tank model. Total water demands consist of the daily demands for agricultural, domestic, industrial, livestock, fishery, and environmental uses within a rural for agricultural, domestic, industrial, livestock, fishery, and environmental uses within a rural district. The return flow, diversions from sources and storage components such as reservoirs were also incorporated into the model. The developed model is a generalized version that may be applied to different combinations of river reaches for a given system. This may help potential users identify areas where water supply does not suffice the demands for different time horizons.

Yi-dong experimental site is operated for research on the rural basin characteristics and accumulation of a long term data by hydrological observation equipments. This basin area is 9,300ha, length 14.4km and slope 0.67%. Hydrological observation network has 3 rainfall meter3, 3 reservoir storage levels and 2 river water levels.

Agricultural water use occupies 60% of the total water use in Korea, so variation of the farming pattern and the efficiency of agricultural water use is important for the sustainable water management. For the analysis of agricultural water use, the Yi-dong experimental site was selected. For the monitoring system of the experimental site, four rainfall gauging stations and twenty-six water level gauging stations are established and operated. Analyses of the measured data are processed for the irrigation efficiency of agricultural water and the effect of the variation of farming pattern.
관개용수 pH가 벼 생육, 수량, 미질에 미치는 영향(I)

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of the pH of irrigation water on the growth, yield, and grain quality of rice. It acquire fundamental know ledges to set up irrigation water quality standards. The pot experiment was conducted with 5 treatments using irrigation waters with various pH values(control, 4, 6, 8, 10) and replicated four times with randomized block design. The results of this study showed that the uptake of N, P, and K, Ripened grain ratio and yield of rice tended to be reduced at the irrigation water of pH 4 and pH 10. P uptake, Ripened grain ratio and yield of rice at pH 4 water were significantly lower than the control. K uptake at pH 10 water was significantly lower than the control. Plant height, SPAD value and protein content of rice were not affected by the pH of irrigation water.
농어촌도로사업이 지역사회 주민의 사회ㆍ경제 활동에 미치는 영향

The objectives of the study are to analyze the impacts of rural road project on the social and economic activities of community people, offer basic data to perform evaluation of the project, and suggest future directions of the project. Research methodology adopted is a questionnaire method. There were interviewed 281 adult residents selected from 34 villages in Yeongdong-gun(mountainous), Miryang-si(middle), and Gochang-gun(plain). Results of the study are as follows: 1) Increase of income and land prices in mountainous and middle regions by the rural road project is higher than in plain; 2) Most inconvenient road expressed by the interviewee is the one linking farm and residence; and 3) The problems of rural roads derived are narrowness, unpavement and partial pavement, unreliable maintenance, and long construction time. In order to meet the community needs on rural roads, it may be necessary that community people participate in the process of the project. And it is desirable to put priority on expanding and paving existing roads rather than constructing new one.
