        When a bridge is designed and constructed, engineers should consider many factors such as structural stability, economic efficiency and aesthetic viewpoint etc.. Especially, it is very important where bridges are constructed in the urban area like an over pass bridge and an urban expressway that have to be constructed in the restricted area. In the case of steel box girder bridge constructed in the restricted area, the bearing shoe is mostly installed at lower flange of main girder because this type is said to ensure the safety of the bridge. But, this method has to put up with several problems, which increase the volume of pier and heighten the vertical curve of the bridge. Therefore, one major topic of interests currently confronting bridge engineers is the location of bearing shoe in the steel box girder bridge to improve the sight and capacity of the bridge. This study is conducted in order to estimate the influences of the bearing shoe on the behaviors of the superstructure from the static and dynamic structural analysis and to determine the location of bearing shoe reasonably for steel box girder bridge. Then, structural behaviors of superstructure of 2-cell 3-continuous steel box girder bridge are discussed.
