A vehicle modeling processor for AUT0DYN7 (which is dynamic analysis program for vehicle system) has been developed with 3D graphics. In order to reduce mistakes on the error prone modeling procedure, an automatic data transfer capability from CAD data to multibody vehicle data and an interactive graphics capability have been also developed. An assembled 3D suspension graphic image is promptly changed and displayed, whenever users' suspension hard point input data are changed. With aid of the interactive graphics capability, more reliable and convenient vehicle modeling procedure has been achieved.<br/>

A Graphic User Interface Program has been developed for AUTODYN7, which is a special program for vehicle dynamics. The RapidApp for GUI(Graphic User Interface) builder and the Open Inventor for 3D graphic library have been employed to develop this program in Silicon Graphics workstation. The program integrates vehicle modeling processor, AUTODYN7 analysis processor, and visualization processor. In modeling processor, users can provide vehicle hard point data for a suspension model, then these data are automatically converted to multibody vehicle system data. This graphic user interface program guides users to model a vehicle system easily with menu windows and helps users to carry out modeling, analysis, and visual evaluation systematically.

An integrated software environment has been developed for the virtual vehicle test simulation using AUT0DYN7, by connecting following programs; i.e., a graphical vehicle modeling program, a driver module for virtual test, AUTODYN7 vehicle dynamics module, a vehicle animation program and x-y plotting program for the evaluation of vehicle handling performance. UNIX multitasking feature has been used for concurrent execution of the integrated programs. The graphic user interface of the integrated software provides a user friendly menu system for the virtual testing. Through this integrated software environment, standard vehicle test simulations have been carried out effectively and efficiently.<br/>

This paper presents effects of carburetor throttle angle on the performance characteristics of a small sparkignited, gasoline engine. The engine used in the test is a single cylinder, two-stroke, air-cooled 26cc SI engine for brush-cutter. We measured the rpm, torque, power, and fuel consumption according to the six different throttle angle conditions of the rotary-type carburetor and to the engine dynamometer loads. We had concluded that maximum power happened at 5000~6000rpm and at the same condition was the minimum specific fuel consumption.
