남성노인의 간호요양원(Nursing home)에 대한 태도와 입주의사 관련 요인

본 연구는 지역사회에 거주하는 남성노인들을 대상으로 간호요양원(nursing home)에 대한 태도 및 입주의사 관련요인을 파악하는 조사연구이다. 대상자는 서울시 K구에 거주하는 65세 이상의 남성노인 159명이었으며, 자료수집 기간은 2006년 2월 1일부터 2월 22일까지였다. 간호요양원에 대한 태도는 5점 만점에서 3.93점으로 긍정적인 것으로 나타났으며, 간호요양원 입주의사에서는 대상자의 78.0%가 간호요양원에 입주하겠다고 응답하였다. 간호요양원에 입주를 원하는 가장 큰 이유는 '자식들에게 의지하기 싫어서', 입주를 원하지 않는 가장 큰 이유는 '경제적 부담' 때문인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 대상자들의 93.1%가 국가 지원 시 간호요양원에 '입주하겠다'라고 응답하였다. 간호요양원에 입주를 원하는 시기는 '몸이 아파서 움직일 수 없을 때'가 가장 높았으며, 간호요양원 입주 시 본인 및 주위 사람들의 의식에 대해서는 '전혀 의식하지 않고 입주 하겠다'고 하였다. 간호요양원의 위치 및 주거 형태는 시내근교 교외의 전원주택을 선호하는 것으로 나타났으며, 비용부담 방식은 전세금 형태의 일시불을 선호하였다. 그리고 입주 시 우선 고려되는 사항으로는 '저렴한 비용'인 것으로 나타났다. 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 간호요양원에 대한 태도는 동거형태에서 그리고 입주의사는 생활비조달방법, 자녀수, 자녀와의 동거희망 그리고 관심사항에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the attitude and admission relating factors on nursing home in elderly men. The participants were conveniently selected 159 elderly men who had been enrolled in a community senior center over 65 years. Data collection was done from February, 1st to 22th 2006. Data analysis were conducted using SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Frequencies, percentiles, standard deviations, t-test, χ²-test, Fisher's exact test and ANOVA were utilized for the data analysis. The mean score on attitude to nursing home was 3.93 indication positive attitude. More then half of participants were intention of admission to nursing home. The main reason for using for nursing home was 'dislike being depend on offspring'. The main reason for not using for nursing home was 'economic hardship', but intent to use if government support become available was indicated by 93.1%. For the preferable time to admit nursing home was 'when I can not move because of sickness' and fifty percent indicated that the preferable place for a nursing home would be a rural or suburban area. For demographical characteristics, there was significant differences in attitude towards nursing home from living situation. And intention to use nursing home was associated with living expenses provision, number of children, desire to live with children and concerns.
