Power steering hose is device that operation oil passes between steering gear box and oil pump by parts that is used to do steering system. Because this hose is receiving heat and pressure of high temperature, leakage can produce swaging from hitch of steel materials of done part. In this paper, we analyze swaging process of power steering hose by finite element analysis, and achieved thermal and pressure analysis with this shape. We can analogize weakness part of hose through this result, and examine closely oil leakage and rubber failure mechanism and look for important design benevolence of power steering hose development.

A study on the collision analysis of an impact beam attached to the side door of a passenger car is attempted to investigate the effects on the safety. 3 dimensional finite element model of a side door, an impact beam and a impact bar are made. A rigid moving barrier is also made which is an impacting object to the side door. The collision velosities are chosen on the practical situation : from slow speed zone near primary school to high speed zone on the high way. From the simulation, the following conclusiona are obtained. With the impact beam, the absorption rate of strain energy increases up to minimum 13.5% to maximum 69% and the collision time decreased to 23.6% compared with that of the case without impact beam. The quantity of the deformation in the case with an impact beam decreases in every velocity zone.
