사도 바울의 삶과 사역에 나타난 개혁주의생명신학 -그 원리와 21세기 적용-

이 글은 유럽의 교회 감소상황을 전하면서 시작된다. 교회가 아무리 오랜 역사, 좋은 전통, 심오한 신학을 가지고 있다 할지라도 역동하는 생명력을 상실하면 교회는 무너질 수 있다는 것을 실증해 보이기 위해서다. 이 시대의 교회가 복음의 능력을 회복하여 세상을 구원하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 신학교들이 신학과 신앙과 실천을 균형있게 가르쳐야 한다. 하지만 아쉽게도 대부분의 신학교에서는 신학교육에만 치우쳐 있고, 그 신학도 주로 학문적으로 가르치고 있을 뿐, 학생들을 뜨거운 가슴의 신앙을 소유한 그리스도의 제자로 길러내지 못하고, 또 사역 현장에 나아가 배운 것을 실천하며 활용할 수 있는 준비된 사역자로 교육시키지 못하는 경우가 허다한다. 특히 신학을 “과학의 여왕”으로 여기며 가르쳐 왔던 유럽의 신학교들이 그러했다. 따라서 유럽의 교회는 오늘날 급속히 감소되었으며, 유럽은 심각한 선교지로 변했다. 개혁주의신학의 본산지인 유럽이 이렇게 된 것은 개혁주의신학에 생명이 결여되었기 때문이다. 사도 바울은 개혁주의생명신학의 원조(元祖)다. 그는 신학과 신앙과 실천의 균형을 유지하면서 생명력 넘치는 교회를 개척하고 목회한 대표적인 인물이었다. 바울은 오늘의 신학교와 교회가 본받아야할 모델이다. 이 글은 바울의 삶과 사역의 원리를 살펴보면서, 이 시대에 교회와 신학교가 배워 실천할 수 있는 영역을 제시한다. 바울은 복음 진리를 설명하고 수호하며 그의 신학을 표현하였다. 그의 복음의 핵심은 예수 그리스도와 그가 이루신 십자가와 부활이었다. 바울은 예수님과 복음을 향한 확신을 가지고 열정적으로 헌신한 그리스도의 제자였다. 더 나아가 그는 그리스도의 생명의 복음을 삶에 적용하며 실천하는 훌륭한 신앙인이었다. 이 글의 마지막 부분은 신학과 신앙과 실천의 균형을 유지했던 바울의 사역원리를 실천하고 있는 영국의 암노스교회개척학교의 사역자 훈련 사례를 소개하고 있다. 결론적으로 그리스도의 복음의 생명으로 교회를 살리자는 개혁주의생명신학은 한국뿐만 아니라 세계교회에 소개되고 수출되어야할 것이다. This article begins by surveying the decline of churches in Europe today. It makes the point that if the Church loses its life of dynamic vitality it is bound to fall even if it has a long history, good tradition and profound theology. If the church is determined to recover the power of the gospel and to save the world, it is vital for theological institutions to equip students with the balance in theology, discipleship and practice. Regrettably most theological institutions focus on teaching theology as merely an academic discipline. They pay little attention to equipping students as the disciples of Christ whose hearts are filled with passion and commitment. Their training does not offer students practical tools that they can use in their fields of ministry. It is the case particularly among the theological institutions in Europe, which regard theology as “the queen of science”. As a result the church in Europe has experienced a rapid decline, and Europe, which used to be the main force for mission, has now become a serious mission field. It is because reformed theology, which originated in Europe, lacks life in its theology. The Apostle Paul is the father of Reformed Life Theology. He was a model who planted life-giving churches and pastored them by keeping the balance with theology, discipleship and practice. The churches and theological institutions today need to take his example seriously. Paul expressed his theology by both explaining the truth of the gospel and defending it. The core of his gospel was Jesus Christ, his suffering on the cross and resurrection. He was a committed disciple of Christ who had firm and passionate conviction in the gospel. Furthermore, he was a Christian who put into practice the truth of the gospel in daily life. Amnos Church Planting School, UK, is introduced towards the end of this article, as a case institution which applies the Pauline principles in training church planters and pastors. The ethos of Reformed Life Theology, that is to revitalize the Church with the life of the gospel, needs to spread to the world.
