A straight-forward method for simultaneously optimizing thermodynamic functions and phase diagrams from experimental data of both is described. The method introduces the flags in a subprogram which allow us to calculate several thermodynamic functions. The functions may be derived from phase diagram analysis. In order to test the validity and the applicability of the present method, the Ag-Cu system is chosen because of its variety of phase boundaries including a miscibility gap. The experimental data are found to be excellently reproduced by the optimized expressions.

Thermodynamic analysis of r-loop in Cr-Fe alloy system was carried out by using the Flag Code Method. The input data used are Dench's enthalpy data and Kubaschewski's phase diagram data. The thermodynamic expressions are Legendre Polynomials. The measured data are excellently represented by the optimized equation.

The plasma spray technics has known as one of the surface modification methods to improve the mechanical properties or the functional characteristics of materials. This paper has been aimed to investigate the effects of plasma sprayed conditions, such as spray distance, primary gas pressure and APL of plasma spraying ceramic(AL_2 O_3 : TiO_2= 87 : 13 w/o) coated blade. The optmum processing for ceramic coated blade are showed at primary gas pressure 80psi, spray distance 55mm, spray rate 40, APL 80kW. (APL; Arc power Level)

This paper has been aimed to investigate the effects of plasma sprayed conditions, such as spray distance and arc power level, of plasma sprayed Al2O3-40%TiO2 costing layer. The optimum processing for ICBT spindle disk coated plasma spray are showed at spray distance 80mm, APL 40kw.

The thermodynamic properties of the liquid Zn-Cd-Sn solutions have been predicted from the binary component data by using a series of analytical expressions. The analytical expressions are developed by applying such binary empirical equations as the subreqular subreqular model and the Krupkowski equation. The geometrical methods employed for the derivation are Muggianu-, Kohler-, Colinet-, and Toop-methods. The experimental data of the Zn-Cd-Sn system measured by Ptak and Moser are found to be excellently represented by the derived expressions.

We studied the homogeneous plating on the dented part of door frame by decreasing or increasing the current density, installing air blower, adjusting the length between anode and cathode, using auxiliary anode, developing the new plating bath and etc. When we performed the zinc cynade plating, there was no way to achieve the homogeneous plating layer without using auxiliary anode. However, it wasn't a suitable and efficient method for appling to the real process. After we developed the plating bath that had the uniform current density, we were able to get the homogeneous plating layer of zinc on the dented door frame.
NASICON 고체 전해질을 사용한 SOx 가스 감지센서

A SOx sensor using NASICON electrolyte was developed for monitoring of air pollution. The following galvanic cell with Na₂SiO₃(Pt) reference electrode was assembled (수식) Na₂SiO₃ was used as an indicator electrode to protect NASICON electrolytes from chemical reaction with SO₂. The EMFs were measured after injecting SO₂ in the initial concentrations range of 5∼5 ppm at 400∼550℃. The measured and calculated potentials were in good agreement above 500℃. However, the cells were unstable below 500℃, most likely due to incomplete attainment of chemical equilibrium. Response time was within 10 min. Based on the stability and response time of this cell, the NASICON solid electrolyte with Na₂SiO₃(Pt) as the reference electrode and Na₂SO₃ (Pt)as the indicator electrode showed the possibility of a reliable, inexpensive commercial solid-state SO_x sensor.

Conventional ball-milling technique was used to synthesize NASICON powders. The NASICON powders were made from three kinds of component powders : coarse($ZrO_{2}$, $Na_{3}PO_{4}$, $SiO_{2}$), fine ($ZrO_{2}$, $Na_{3}PO_{4}$, $SiO_{2}$) and fine ($ZrSiO_{4}$, $Na_{3}PO_{4}$) powders. The fine component powders were easily reacted to form the desired product at $1100^{\circ}C$ or higher, whereas incomplete reaction due to the coarse component powders occurred even at $1170^{\circ}C$. The finer the grain size of the starting powders was, the higher the bulk density of NASICON electrolyte after sintering was observed. Almost single phase NASICON electrolytes with more than 95% of the theoretical density, $3.27g/cm^{3}$, could be fabricated by sintering for $40{\sim}60$ hours at temperatures between 1150 and $1170^{\circ}C$.
The Correlation of the Thermodynamic Properties and Phase Diagram of the System Cd-Pb

A method of correlating with precision the thermodynamic properties and phase boundaries of the cadmium-lead system is described. For the liquid phase, the Krupkowski equation is used to correlate the enthalpy data of Kleppa, the excess free energy data of Zabdyr, and the eutectic point data of Hansen and Anderko. For the fcc (Pb) phase, a quasi-regular model is used. The calculated phase diagram of the cadmium-lead system using these formalisms agrees well with the experimental diagram.
